Cheryl sent me a list of bands earlier today, so far I am totally digging Burial Hex, Gnaw Their Tongues and Axis of Perdition.

So apparently Cradle of Filth is 1. making a new album that really is going to sound like their old stuff (we'll see about that); 2. selling an album with some of their older songs but every instrument will be orchestral. JIZZZZZ.

hey siobhan, check out Locrian too!
i've seen so much metal this past two weekends it's been insane. Last weekend was damnation festival, I checked out: Conan Shining (NOR) Turisas Dragged Into Sunlight (amazing) Chthonic Altar Of Plagues (life affirming) Doom Godflesh Ulver
Yesterday was the annual Candlelight Records fest, Candlefest. Falloch Eastern Front (LOL) Xerath October File (boring) The Rotted (better when they were called Gorerotted) Winterfylleth (not racist once) Altar Of Plagues (literally the best thing I've seen this year) Anaal Nathrakh (minus Mick because he's stuck in the states - still amazing).

I don't know. Some kind of satanic pact? They had the touring guitarist from Malevolent Creation fill in, literally like, a few days before he had to learn all the songs, including ones they never played live before. Incredible.

They have been around since the 80's but this is their first studio album, apparently.

Hell are actually super ace live. Really good fun and dudes voice is incredible.
I finally saw a headlining Altar Of Plagues set this weekend, Fucking hell, intense is not the word. Even in a supporting slot they are incredible. I was fucking exhausted afterwards just from sheer emotion. damn.

I asked the OMB but no one responded. Can anyone recommend me stuff that sounds like Hellhammer and early Voivod?

^I got a hold of Agony & Opium, it rules. I like it more than the song you posted, just 'cause it's rougher around the edges. The vocals are fantastic!
I could really go for seeing that live right about now.

Posted this in the "Whore Your Band" thread. Figure I'd post it here as well. So in case I haven't flooded your Facebook news feed already, my band SERAPHEUM has officially released our 6 song EP and is available on a few major online stores! Look for Serapheum on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, and CDBaby. If you have Spotify, you can give us a listen there, too! iTunesAmazonGoogle PlayCDBaby

These guys are seriously blowing my fucking mind right now and I'm not even smoking. Super futuristic blackened thrash band called Vektor. Awesome logo, awesome album art. Technical, yet melodic and digestible. This is some really good shit.

I think they were on the same label as Marshal's band.

To anyone that has heard the new Deathspell Omega album (Drought): is it good? I didn't really like Paracletus that much.

I can't get over how fucking incredible Emperor's "In the Nightside Eclipse" is. This album seriously blows my mind especially when I'm reading the lyrics. The lyrics are so intense and the music matches it perfectly.

I'm really enjoying the new Testament album. Thrashy as hell.
I listened through some of my Darkest Hour favorites today, it's been so long since I've listened to them.
And I haven't had the slightest urge to listen to Cradle Of Filth in years, but I checked out the orchestral album and wasn't super impressed, but now I want to listen to the originals..

I love the new Christian Mistress album that came out this year. Any band that has a ton of Sabbath and Pentagram overtones is more than okay in my book.
On another note, I need to spend some time with the new Nile. I wasn't overly impressed on my first listen but I'm hoping it grows on me.

Picked up the first 3 Sabbath CD's 'cause I only had them on cassette and my tape player took a shit.
Been far too long since I've been able to rock the Sabbath in the car.

To anyone that has heard the new Deathspell Omega album ( Drought): is it good? I didn't really like Paracletus that much. I know this is super late, but I've been lax. If you haven't heard it yet.....I'd probably just wait for the next full length. It was disappointing for me, but I did love Paracluetus a whole lot.
