Wow, really? I think it's fantastic. Can't wait for the LP.

Yeah, I loved it. Actually got me back interested in them again.
Also, I know I've said this on twitter a few times but I encourage all you guys to check out Banquets new record. Best pop-punk I've heard this year.

Our Bodies Our Selves by MTX is the best. Really diverse for a pop punk album.

I have friends who make music in this fashion. I would like to share them with you. The Prozacs www.myspace.com/theprozacs. Their lyrics aren't that strong most of the time. But they're super guys. I drove to MA to see them open for Paul Collins (the Nerves/the Beat). Jay Prozac is like the nicest dude in the world. The Challenged www.podsnack.com/playlists/64e546ecfa7b3915ae4c73518a154503(their latest album for you to stream. One of my favorites of last year) I hope you enjoy these. I do.

It's great to have the punk rock institution responsible for like 99% of the music I listened to in high school back.

I have to say, I'm not in love with the new Polar Bear Club...yet. I need to give it a few more listens, but I'm not hearing a lot of stand-out tracks.

www.nme.com/news/saves-the-day/59104new Saves The Day album is streaming. the first song had some cool parts, but was wayyyy too fucking long. everything after that is just... not that good.

so, not a surprise, but I really like the new blink album. Wishing Well and This Is Home are the only two tracks I'm not big on. Up All Night sounds way better in the context of the album. but yeah, this is so littered with the remains of all of their past projects, but I'm completely into it because it seems like they brought the best parts of each one to the table. Snake Charmer and Kaleidoscope fucking RULE.
also, posts about this album/band probably don't belong in the pop punk thread anymore hahah. ah well.

I'm not that big on it so far, but I think it'll grow on me.

It's pretty bad. It's basically AVA with Mark singing sometimes. No bueno.

My biggest complaint is there's hardly any Mark.
Ok, I think I figured out what I don't like about this album: A lot of the songs (especially the first two) start off good with really cool riffs, and then just kind of peter out when it gets to the chorus. "Heart's All Gone" is the big exception to that, and that's why it's still my favorite so far.

this sounds much closer to Box Car Racer than AVA, honestly. Snake Charmer is straight-up BCR on the instruments outside of the verses. also, pretty much all of the instrumentation on the album is far tighter than anything i've heard from AVA. and Nicksaw, having too little Mark is my biggest complaint too. but as far as overall sound, I can't say this is too far off what I was expecting after the s/t and the side projects.

I really dig the new Saves The Day album.
O and Undress Me are fantastic.

Yeah, "Snakecharmer" sounds EXACTLY like Box Car Racer.
I really like the first half of the album, but the rest just does not do anything for me.

i'm still a fan of the new blink, i'd say Natives, Snake Charmer, Heart's All Gone and Kaleidoscope are the strongest tracks. the rest range from decent to meh, nothing that I really hate. well, except Love Is Dangerous, but that's a bonus track so I won't count it against the album. the instruments are probably the best thing about it (especially Travis' drumming), Tom's voice still sounds weird and some of the lyrics are mediocre.

Isn't Heart's all Gone a bonus track too?

Isn't Heart's all Gone a bonus track too? nope, it was on one of the incorrect tracklists, but it's in the middle of the album. it even has it's own interlude, hah.
