such an umbrella. Huh, title limits, eh? I find I make threads for bands that could just be haphazardly tossed into a thread like this. The Wonder Years released the details for their new album and a new song and it fucking rules. I was skeptical to what direction they would take, but if the new material is any indication, they're only getting better and better. www.punknews.org/article/42216PS. it's crazy how much time it takes me to figure out how to post urls and stuff. You'd think after like a decade of the internet I would've figured my shit out.

I love pop-punk, but the Wonder Years are baaaaaaad.
Recently got into The Copyrights. Good stuff.

Avalanche of shit?
It's weird. I used to hate NFG but that's all I've been playing lately.

I didn't mean shit in terms of terrible, just the vast amount of music that could fit under the label.

Love NFG's self/titled and Sticks and Stones. There's songs I like on every other record, too. I've been listening to a lot of Get Up Kids the past few months.

that new Wonder Years song is really fucking good. I think that they're gonna win even more fans with this, Soupy's voice sounds way better to me. and that part in the middle that sounds like it came from an American Football song, fuck, that's good.
springtime=pop-punk time, I have a feeling I'll be listening to the new Title Fight record quite a bit.

What do you think of the new Title Fight? I like it, but it's pretty disappointing. None of the tracks really stand out to me, and it's nowhere NEAR as catchy as everything else they've done.

i'm so fucking excited for the next Pretty Boy Thorson and The Slow Death record, my god. entirely new lineup: Annie from the Soviettes, Paddy fuckin Costello, Mikey Erg and Jesse Thorson. there is no way that it doesn't turn out good.
and re:new Title Fight, I think it's their strongest effort yet, I love it way more than Kingston or TLTYF. the songwriting as a whole is just so much stronger on this record. I also like how much Texas is the Reason and Small Brown Bike influence is on this album, especially Where Am I? when talking about the former. I'd say Shed, Flood of '72, You Can't Say Kingston Doesn't Love You and Stab are the standouts to me right now.

and if you haven't heard of Joyce Manor by now or haven't listened to their new album: www.punknews.org/bands/joycemanor not even 20 minutes long, but definitely one of my favorite records of the year.

Ergs Ergs Ergs. Ergs, Ergs Ergs Ergs: Ergs. Dorkrockcorkrod is such a classic. The only songs I don't like by them are their really early ones. Everything post Dorkrock is great, especially some of their ephemera like Jazz is the New Coke and Introducing Morrissey.

man, that's a name I haven't seen in ages.
also, this wouldn't be a pop punk thread if the almighty Dillinger Four wasn't mentioned. although i'm sure a lot of people would just call them "punk" haha. I'm making a playlist to go drive around right now, so far I have Dillinger Four, The Dopamines, The Soviettes, The Marked Men, Brand New's Your Favorite Weapon, Spraynard, Dear Landlord, Teenage Bottlerocket, Junction 18 and Joyce Manor. it's gonna be a good day.
also, Wes, do you still have that link for that Ariel Mile EP? i think that definitely should be in here, I wish that band had put out more! and if you don't, I'll up it.

That sounds like a rad playlist. I've been meaning to update my iPod for the nicer weather. No where near enough Descendents on it

damnit, I knew I forgot to put something on it, haha. www.ifyoumakeit.com/album/spraynard/funtitled/ this is definitely something you should all be listening to, the new Spraynard album. probably gonna have to get a physical copy from Asian Man, it's really fucking good. ALSO, just gonna edit this in here, you all should download this: Ariel Mile - The Atwater EP super, super catchy pop punk from ex-members of Tsunami Bomb. this is the only thing they ever released, which is a huge shame.

RVIVR might be my favorite band right now. They played a DIY fest in my city this past weekend, and their set was one of the best I've ever seen. 200 kids crammed into a basement, singing along and dancing. It was absolutely incredible.
