Ex Machina. I thought I would like it....more. It was good but not as good as I thought it would be :/ I am really liking Domnhal Gleeson though. He was really good in that Black Mirror episode and I liked his acting in this.

Wow, Juno is an entirely different film watching it from the other side of adulthood.
Edit: I know that's obvious, but I re-watched it for the first time since probably my early twenties (if that) when I *thought* I was an adult. Now that I actually *am* one, it's even more different.

FINALLY watched Moon. It's so great! Glad I went into it without any spoilers. Really, really good.
We also watched The Royal Tenenbaums and The Grand Budapest Hotel over the weekend. The former is still my favorite Wes Anderson film, but maaaan the latter is so great as well.

I am watching Warcraft right now and I have no idea wtf is going on but I'm oddly entertained. Fantasy shit is cool.

So we're just going full Wes Anderson and watched Fantastic Mr. Fox, which I'd actually never seen before. OMG it's so good. Although it's weird that Michael Gambon voiced one of the farmers because the whole time I was like "Dumbledore whhhyyyyyy"

I don't always really get his stuff but that is one of my absolute favorite movies. My brothers and I randomly tell each other to divide shit by nine. "If what I think is happening, is happening, it better not be" is such a funny line.

My nephew was four when his little sister was born, so when my sister went into labor her husband took her and I stayed with him. It was way past his bedtime so I was like hey, we'll fall asleep watching a movie together and we'll wake up and meet his new sister, that will be great. I put Fantastic Mr. Fox in and nuzzled in with him and he stayed awake through the whole thing somehow. I swear to god he didn't move an inch the whole time but somehow he stayed awake. So then I thought I would just play it again and he'd fall asleep half out of exhaustion and half out of boredom. Even I nodded off part way through but when it ended he was STILL AWAKE. So then I played it a third time and he finally, finally fell asleep at some point in the movie. And then like two hours later it was 8:00am and we got the call to come meet my niece. Plan backfired so hard. I think about that for a sec every time I watch the movie hahaha. Anyway.

Love that movie so much. Jim and I use the whole hand shaking "he's....different" to describe our cats. A lot.
edit: also, that is a super adorable story. Little kids, man.

I watched The Big Short last night and loved it, but was shocked to find out it's considered a comedy.

We've been meaning to watch that. I'll queue it up.
Recently we've watched Bringing Up Baby, Life of Pi and The Edge of Tomorrow. Which is an odd assortment of films, but I really liked all of them. Katherine Hepburn is hilarious, Life of Pi was gorgeous, and The Edge of Tomorrow is basically everything I want in a sci fi action movie.

I loved Ghostbusters, a lot. Dying to see that. My sister and cousin both said good things about it. Plus Kate McKinnon is a babe. Saw Finding Dory last night. It was cute. Hank is me.

Star Trek Beyond.
It was fun but I was hoping for more. I hope the next one has some sweet klingon federation action.

Suicide Squad. I don't know shit about comics so it was all new to me but I found it entertaining. Definitely felt rushed and kinda jumbled. Really liked Leto's Joker though, can't wait to see him explore that character more.

You're only the second person I've seen say something good about it, but I'm glad cause so much of what I've read has been almost like.. hive mind hate that they went into the movie with. The relentless press about the obnoxious shit Leto did on set is super old, but the movie looks like it'll be fun.

I went into the movie expecting to have fun. I mean, it has its cheesy lines and cliche movie tropes but it's about fucking superheroes in spandex n' shit. I wasn't expecting a heavy Nolan batman-esque performance, haha.

It's funny, we just recently rewatched Juno, and the relationship between Juno & Bren was one of the components that really works well and totally holds up years later, so I was pleased to see those two actresses working together again. I'll report back!

We went and saw the Ron Howard Beatles documentary and I really liked it. It's kind of a bold move to make a documentary on the Beatles as we already have the Anthology, but I feel like no one really focuses on their touring years because everything post 1966 had all the best drama (...and the best music but whatever). Also the theatrical release includes their Shea Stadium performance and it was so interesting, haha. They literally could not hear each other and its SHOCKING how well they played in spite of that. And all the moms and dads in the crowd just utterly dumbfounded by the reaction of all the teenage girls is fucking hilarious.

I want to see it!
We started out horror-movie month with Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I'd never actually seen the entire thing. It was alright. First act is slow. Third act is loud. Second act makes it worth watching.
EDIT: JUST FOUND OUT THE BEATLES DOC IS ON HULU! YES!
