I picked Dallas in that game but I always have a lot of confidence in them for some reason.
Either Buffalo's a surprise team or Kansas City is looking at a top-5 pick.

Pretty good start, I guess. We started the same way against Indy at home last year, too, though...
And I've never been in an NFL locker room, so I have no idea, but I hope "taking your foot off the gas" is a real things because the Texans pass defense looked a lot like last year through the second half.

I'm actually enjoying watching the Panthers game. This is a great surprise!

Eek! Who lit the fire under Arizona? I thought they were done with this game....
Looks like a lot of the freshman slump RBs are doing better. Beanie Wells went 90 yards with a TD; Ryan Mathews had most of his good carry opportunities stolen by Tolbert, but he still nabbed 45 yards of rushing and added 73 yards of receiving; C.J. Spiller snagged a TD, even though he had barely any carries. Good to see that the talent is actually there, interested to see if they can keep it up.

Eh, they've only been trailing by 7 all game and our defense hasn't been great so I was afraid something like this will happen.
Now I'm entering panic mode.

And there's that. Newton throws for over 400 yards and we still lose because of this shit defense. That Doucet TD and Peterson punt return should have never happened. I can't be too mad though because that's the first time in forever that I've enjoyed watching the Panthers. We're not going t win that many games but we'll be fun to watch at least.

Cool to see Cam Newton do well. I like QBs with a flare for excitement.
How about these kick returns? 5 punt returns and 3 kick returns for touchdowns. I don't know what the average usually is, but I kept finding the games where they happened.

I am so fucking happy that football is back. the Steelers/Ravens game was fun as hell to watch, but I wish Ray Rice had pummeled Polamalu. fun fact for the day: Steve Smith had more yards in one play (77) than Donovan McNabb had rushing and passing combined all game (39 and 32, respectively). how the hell were the Vikings even close in that game.
now to get ready for the Cowboys/Jets game tonight. i think having Rob Ryan should help the defense a bit, but i'm worried since they didn't change up our personnel that much. i think our offense should be just fine though.

NFC South has no wins in it. Harsh.

Man, how could the Cowboys let a treasure like Nick Folk go? Fantasy note (tagged, to make it easier to ignore): I'm all in on Felix Jones this year - he's on all of my teams. It's so sad.

Yeah, it was a fun game to watch but if Newton has to throw for 400 yards every game then we won win too many. Hoping we can get some balance and he can learn to settle down in the pocket a little. Still played better than I expected him to by a mile but it was against Arizona. They switched us to Seattle-San Fran when the Redskins game was over and I saw Ginn's first TD and then focused on the Panthers game on the computer, looked up and saw Ginn running another one back and thought it was replay, haha.

I didn't get to watch the Ravens game this morning due to work, but when I found out how bad they were schooling the Steelers I went to the nearby bar on my break to watch it. Glorious.
Unnngh NFL I missed you.

I just continue to be baffled by our inability to move past our mistakes. None of those turnovers on their own took us out of the game, but it seems like with this team once one thing goes wrong, it just multiplies into a snowball of shit.
I try to stay positive, but I'm beginning to believe the naysayers. When the same shit happens year after year, game after game, I do start to think we're incapable of taking it to the next level. And in some ways, that makes it worse than if we were just completely inept.

The fumble on the goal line wasn't that bad since they stripped Sanchez on the ensuing drive but that INT to Revis was BRUTAL. I'm usually one of the first people to defend Romo but I have zero idea what he was thinking there. Sanchez wasn't any better with how he played.
Rob Ryan has really helped that defense, though.

Honestly, though, those kind of "WTF were you thinking" INTs are fairly rare for Romo. Unfortunately, they almost always seem to come at exactly the wrong time.
The goal line fumble was also a symptom of Garrett's horrible red zone playcalling. No idea why they didn't just run up the gut. At worst it would have ended with a field goal.
I just need to take a deep breath and remember that this is one of only two really tough games on the schedule (the other being the Pats, who don't have nearly as good a defense as NY). We should roll on the 49ers next week.
This from Fark really made me laugh: "Ryan must be tired. Putting that wig on and running across the field without anybody noticing has to be exhausting."

Yeah, I was going to say something about the terrible playcalling. Lining up shotgun with an empty backfield inside the five yardline is just stupid.

Eric Berry done for the year thanks to this. There goes any liking I had for Stevie Johnson.

WHAT THE FUCK? I really really liked Stevie but he can fuck off.
Is it just me or does Romo kind of collapse (literally) right before he's going to be tackled? It makes me laugh.
I for some reason watched the Eagles/Rams. Ughhh. I always have a soft spot for the Rams but it's useless. I should've watch Big Ben get embarrassed instead. I need a new AFC team, I'm off the Bengals for good. Hmmm...

Well, I'd probably take a dive instead of a sack too if I'd just spent the last season with a broken collarbone.

Finally got a chance to look at some of the other games more closely today and I seriously can't believe the Vikings managed to score 17 points in that game with how bad McNabb is. Percy Harvin and AP are the only good things about that offense.
The ending to the Niners/Seahawks game made me laugh. I love how Teddy Ginn is such a bad receiver but an ace at returning kicks. He bobbled the punt that he took back for a touchdown, haha.
Also, the attendance at a lot of these games looked pretty sad. Especially Tampa, SF, San Diego and Jacksonville.

I was going to skip fantasy football this year but I eventually joined an 8-team league with my friends. Here's what I ended up with.
QB: Rivers, Fitzpatrick RB: Rice, McFadden, Greene, Green-Ellis, Sproles WR: Bowe, Britt, Welker, Meachem, Edwards TE: Olsen, Daniels D/ST: Tampa Bay K: Cundiff
Like my running backs and QB's. Not a huge fan of my receiving corps but I think I'll make due with it.
