this is one of the first times I've seen a CG-stravaganza and not thought "I bet this will look shitty in 3 years." It's so damned vibrant.

Yeah, I think it's ahead of its time as far as CGI goes. I watched the making of it and the technology they've come up with just for motion capture is ridiculous.

no it isn't. at all. for one thing, Ferngully's unwatchable crap. Breakdown of Fern Gully: Human male enters a pristine rainforest world with tiny mythical inhabitants and callously destroys their habitat and sacred sites for profit on behalf of a large logging corporation. Then he undergoes a major bodily change and befriends (and eventually falls in love with) the fairy people's leader's daughter. He learns the ways of the faries, engages in "friendly" competition with the male folk of the species, and understands why their natural surroundings are so sacred to them. He has a major change of heart and decides to fight with the faries against the loggers that he was previously working for. In the end, the forest is saved and everyone lives happily ever after. Breakdown of Avatar: Human male enters a pristine rainforest world with tiny large, blue mythical inhabitants and callously destroys their habitat and sacred sites for profit on behalf of a large logging corporation large military organization. Then he undergoes a major bodily change and befriends (and eventually falls in love with) the fairy people's Navi's leader's daughter. He learns the ways of the faries Navi, engages in "friendly" competition with the male folk of the species, and understands why their natural surroundings are so sacred to them. He has a major change of heart and decides to fight with the fairies Navi against the loggers army that he was previously working for. In the end, the forest is saved and everyone lives happily ever after. What exactly are the major differences in the story? Guns? CGI? Lack of a singing bat? The "point" of the movie was no less heavy handed in either film.

i don't care if it's the same story. that story is an old stock tale. the execution is radically different, and Avatar's an enjoyable film, whereas Ferngully is a bad, fake Don Bluth movie with Robin Williams' most annoying animated comic sidekick ever.

I don't know how people can fall asleep to the 90 minute documentary of an awesome alien world that is the first part of the film. Brilliance.

I know, I was joking. Though perhaps not very well?
Anyhoo, I won't deny that the graphics in the film were awesome, and I actually really liked Sigourney Weaver's character. I just wasn't interested in the whole package.

This is how my room is constructed and I can't move anything because it's all drilled into the wall: I can't click out fast enough! Hahahaha. People think it's either an Avatar message board or a Super Junior message board, hahaha.

Hide NOMB? Crazy. I would make and wear a NOMB T-shirt if I had the tools to make one.
