Isaw it last night.I am going to have to eat my words.I really enjoyed it.Despite the story line being very obvious, and the wannbe Sgt. Hatred I was entertained.Although I wish Cameron would make a movie with a different underlining message. And of course it was fucking pretty.

I saw it last night too, I enjoyed it. The 3D stuff was a little irritating at times, but it was mostly well done. The story wasn't great but I was entertained.

I finally saw this movie. The story was decent. As an artist though...it was like our porn.

The first thing I thought of when I saw Michelle Rodriguez's character was Vasquez from Aliens.
And LOL "SHE LOOKS AT HIM COQUETTISHLY, BECAUSE THE SUBTLE WAYS THAT PEOPLE SHOW AFFECTION AND ALL OTHER MANNERISMS ARE UNIVERSAL AMONG ALL SPECIES IN THE UNIVERSE."

I'm assuming you're a furry artist? No, I wasn't speaking quite so literally. (But that was funny!)

I got a headache from watching it. I think it's because I had to crook my neck a certain way to see the whole screen. I'd give it a B for visuals, and a C for storyline.

So I'm totally in love with this movie. The world, the characters, and just the overall epicness of it. I love high fantasy movies and this one is no exception. It may be because I'm infatuated with it right now, but this is probably the best fantasy movie I've ever seen. I'm pumped for the rest of the trilogy. Just like a lot of other people I've read from on this board, I was skeptical about it being awesome because it was furries, but I walked out totally blown away. It made me feel like a kid again. I wanted to go home and paint myself blue, wear a loin cloth, and hunt squirrels with a bow and arrow. I've seen it twice in normal 3D. I really want to fucking see it in Imax 3D.
If you haven't seen it and are skeptical about it, just go see it. Its an awesome experience.

Just found out that one of the kids who went to my school (graduated 2 years ago?) worked on the development/design of the mechs in Avatar. Not really surprising considering he's a big special effects guru already. He also worked on Indiana Jones 4. But still awesome to find out.

Well Avatar beat out Titanic. Not technically, though. Technically, Gone with the Wind has everyone still beat when you take in inflation and 3-D prices.

I loved this film so so much. I was skeptical, ended up seeing it on my own and then felt really depressed for a week, haha. I've since seen it again, trying to persuade my mother to go and go to the IMAX at some point. And yes, the Na'vi are rather hot. I don't care. www.iwatchstuff.com/2010/01/go_behind_the_scenes_of_avatar.php This was quite an interesting watch.

Biggest box office income worldwide, domestically, and 9 Oscar Nominations. Ridiculous.

I don't think it really deserves a best picture nomination, but whatever. a lot people seem to think it's going to win though, which seems so ridiculous.

So i caved and watched it yesterday. It was pretty cool. I fell asleep at some point which kinda sucks because I was watching it in 3D Imax so it's like a 20 dollar nap but in the end I enjoyed myself.

I think there should be a separate Oscar category for "Raddest Movie."

I'd bet money on Hurt Locker winning best picture over this, which it should. I agree on "raddest movie" though. Avatar was just a lot of Edgar Rice Burroughs style fun.

judging a film like Avatar on the same scale as real cinematic achievement is absurd. that whole 'popcorn" genre should have its own category.

It's the sort of film you just watch, you don't need to pay a huge amount of attention to the storyline so you can enjoy some of the shots etc. a bit more.
I want to know how the CGI's gonna look in three years time though, that ought to be quite funny.
