There's a good amount of weapons, maps, perks, and monsters so you can mix things up a bit. It's kind of like a longer version of L4D's Survival mode, but with more variety and with a little less focus on teamwork (it's still important, but you don't have to be right next to each other all the time). If you like killing lots of stuff, you'll probably like this. It's too bad you missed the free weekend on Steam, but it's still on sale there for $15 until the end of the week.

I can't believe I haven't thought to utilise Steam until now. I keep forgetting that my laptop can actually handle newer games.

So, yeah, someone suggest me a new, cheap-ish game to try out.

I purchased Dissidia 2 weeks ago and been playing it on and off. Especially since there are moments where I get frustrated because I get my ass kicked by one of the bosses that I just stop playing for a couple of hours.

I've heard that the best way to play it is with a mod called Lurk Mod. I think it adds a shit ton of extra stuff.

Yeah, it worked eventually and downloaded fine. Played it about 20 minutes. Got confused. I guess it's one of those RPG type shooters? It seems a bit... punishing. Maybe should have chosen an easier difficulty.

Maybe should have chosen an easier difficulty. Yeah, the game seems really difficult when you start. I would suggest playing it like you would in real life, since you die so easily. It's not like a lot of games where you just run in and take everything out instantly. It is an RPG shooter.

The first attempt I gave it, I gave up on the first mission. Afterward, I forced myself to play it like it was supposed to be played (Carefully) and I actually had fun.

So, anyone (Paul in particular, I guess), is it worth getting Champions Online? Bearing in mind I really want to get DC Universe Online when it comes out, even though it's not for a while. I've got the superhero itch.

Went to Eurogamer today. It was fun ! I played ODST firefight, which was really good. Totally kicked everyone's ass. Played early MP builds of AvsP and Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
AvsP was......kinda lame, but I guess they have a lot of time to figure out the niggles. Aiming was weird, the controls were kinda unresponsive and the Predators were ridiculously overpowered. I know they are meant to be, but it was like you were in the vicinity of one and you were dead.
BF:BC 2 was awesome. It's pretty much more of the same, but it was good fun.
Split Second was there too, you can destroy the map and change the course and whatnot. That was also fun !
Lost Planet 2 looks good, and so does MAG and God of War 3.

Wow. I'm extremely envious. BF: BC was pretty fun when I played it for xbox, near when it came out. Is the new one more like BF2? I always thought that was the best one (of the ones I played, supposedly, 1942 is the best). I don't think that it's possible to make a good Alien Vs Predator game

They had a decent amount of MP stuff on the set up, but nothing from the single player campaign. It looks a bit shinier, haha.
