i've been saying the same thing about the cops re: their clean faces and uniforms.
also, no one's said this yet (i don't think) but lolol at Baelish making a brief appearance. Don't know why i laughed so much when i saw his non-mustached face but i just did.

After watching this a second time, the time inconsistencies in the last 20 minutes of the movie are really, really frustrating. Talia says Gordon bought the city 11 minutes, and the clock on the bomb says 11:36. Ok. Well between her saying that and the clock reading 10:24, Talia has time to get into a tumbler and drive off after the bomb, while Bane says some things to Batman, Selina kills Bane, Batman runs off to find the batcopter, and catches up with Talia. All in just over 60 seconds....
Also, Batman manages to fly the bomb at least 6 miles out of the city, in approximately 60 seconds...yeah....no. That being said I still absolutely love the movie, but that's just sloppy screenwriting. Come on, Nolan brothers.

Haha I totally didn't notice Baelish! Though I was very pleased to see the hot nurse from Grey's appear for about three minutes.
Also turns out eternally young eyelinered Mayor played Bat Manuel in the live action Tick and this news just makes me so happy.

I don't know who either of those people are but I was happy to see William LaMontagne Jr. I don't know if anybody else watches Criminal Minds though haha. He was Bane's helper dude who was always covered in ammo and delivered them in the very beginning. I love that guy.

Super hot Greys nurse was that super hot special forces guy who shows up and has some angst with JGL then is killed and hung from a bridge.

So Bale went to go visit the victims of the Colorado shooting on his own (not repping WB or anything) at the hospital and the memorial by the theater. That's pretty cool of him, though I can't help feeling like it's just so he can get people to forget about his outrage.

^ I stole this from another message board:
I'd like to imagine that upon arriving at the hospital, he walked up to the receptionist and loudly grumbled "WHERE ARE THEY?!!!!"

The entire new Batman series has very sloppy screenwriting, but people forgive it for its excellent direction and performances. The whole series was sleek and sexy. A lot of the science is made up, too. Chris Nolan knows how to keep people interested. Seriously, re-watch Dark Knight and ignore Ledger's performance and there's a LOT of question marks in there. oh so this Baelish person is Aidan Gillen who is also Tommy Carcetti, things make sense now. Yeah, if you don't know him as Carcetti, watch The Wire immediately.

Yeah, I forgot to say something about how brutal the exposition is in all three movies. The last one's the worst about it, especially when Alfred and Bruce are reminding you so hard of what happened at the end of the second film that they're crying. "AND WOT IF..." oh my god. Or the first one when Ra's asks "do you still blame yourself for the death of your parents?" and Bruce says "MY ANGER OUTWEIGHS MY GUILT." LET ME TELL YOU MY EMOTIONS DIRECTLY.

Especially with all of that set-up to show he's feeling angry and a little guilty; you literally sent him halfway around the world into a Tibetan prison because he hates himself, his privilege and the world for taking his parents. I know there's some viewers who won't get that implicitly, but you don't have to have the actor look into the camera and tell you what he's feeling. All of the "why does he wear that silly mask? " stuff was bothersome. Each bad guy in the three movies tried to explain why they wear a mask and it was like OK, I get it, you're trying to explain the meaning of the bad guys and they each have their own meaning, but you don't have to explain the fucking masks and shit. Jesus. The reason why this series wasn't terribly shitty (storywise) is because it showed well enough even if it did tell what it was showing. (If you wanna see good show-don't-tell emotional exposition, see the new Spider-Man; they nailed that shit, even if there was some hum-drum "Peter Parkour Skater Dude!!!!" stuff).

That's not to say I didn't like this movie or the series. A LOT goes into a movie, moreso than a plot outline. The third was the weakest because where 1 and 2 hinged on untimed destruction, this one resorted to a cheap bomb gimmick.
Batman is a dark, horrifying story of a scarred man repeatedly trying to avenge his parents death by making criminals pay. The series is entirely about self-sacrifice, doing the right thing, even a little self-hatred; this is why of all the goddamn superhero movies, Batman was the most deserving of a gritty reboot and Nolan nailed it.
If the story could've been a little better, I would've appreciated it, but it's pretty rare that a movie can condense that much stuff into a trilogy.

I'm still wondering why the hell anyone thought it was a smart idea to send all the police down into the sewers at once? I mean... really?

Nothing says "safety" like a bunch of dudes in a dark, confined space all working towards the center of an area from different sides with guns.

'Every cop in the city is down there!' '...not all of them!'
Or something. Absolutely my favourite shitty line. THIS OLD MAN IN HOSPITAL WILL SAVE US ALL!
Agree with all of the above script issues. Some lines were just so silly you had to laugh, despite how hard the actors were working to sell them.

Saw it again today, here are some minor details I found interesting:
When Fox hands Bruce the newspaper, the words SMANG IT are in all caps in the article about him. Some wiley prop designer stuck the concept of smangin' it into the movie.
The ballroom scene is a reference to Labyrinth, which is made really obvious by Catwoman having a giant hardcover book in her room that says LABYRINTH on the spine. Nolan likes cute book jokes, like the one in Memento
