re: JGL cast as Holiday Killer: Oh whaaaat. So unexpected. I'm very interested now. Haha. So, at first I was super stoked about Tom Hardy playing Bane... but something that kinda irks me about this is that Bane is like, one of the few comic book characters that's Latino... but Nolan decided to cast a British dude. I mean, I'm sure Hardy's gonna do an awesome job, and I'm still stoked. But still, can't help but feel like this kinda sucks.

Oh man, the way they handled that aspect of Bane in the Arkham Asylum video game was so bad. "SINCE I AM HISPANIC, I WILL USE ONE WORD OF SPANISH. SHE IS THE BRUJA."

My JGL boner still hasn't died from Inception apparently so I'm stoked so see him as a villian.

I've had a JGL boner since 3rd Rock. Sad about the non-Latino casting, but stoked about all things Joseph.

honestly, Tom Hardy was my first choice to play Bane even before either was announced. ever since seeing Bronson, I just absolutely believe he's the best choice for it.. it does sort of bother me since it's been pretty much all Latino actors (except for Worf!) doing the voice of Bane for all of the animated series. but Bane's origin is still iffy, he was born on a fictional Caribbean island to a British father(King Snake) and there's not exactly a wealth of info on his mother. so it's still a bit sketch, but a british dude isn't exactly the worst choice. super stoked to see JGL as the Holiday Killer, though. he'll fit really well too. also, however Nolan does Bane, it will undoubtedly be better than the embarrassment from Batman & Robin. I wanna see some backbreaking at the end of this shit. although even that film had Bane as a South American prisoner... and the edit function is getting overused at this point, but new thoughts keep coming to me. Nolan's Bat-verse definitely has veered off at some points compared to most Batman canon, so it's also entirely possible that Bane could have a different origin story within the film, rather than using the original.

if they hadn't planned on rebooting it, I'd be pissed. interesting that Nolan is gonna stay on, but I think he has enough sense not to mess around too much with another director's vision. it's kinda sad that we're almost at the end though, this trilogy has definitely been my favorite representation of Batman, as far as film goes.

I'm pretty stoked on there being more bad guys. My favorite thing about Batman has always been the villains. Such a crazy diverse set. And I've always loved that most all of them are basically just normal people. Like, with the exception of a few mutant people, most everyone is just a regular person with a fucked up past, Batman included.
That's one thing that disappointed me about TDK, not even villains. Scarecrow cameo, The Joker, and an origin story of Two-Face.

WB will absolutely not fuck with this like Sony did with Spiderman 3. Nolan has basically had free rein for the first two, i don't see that changing.

Eh, I dunno about the Lazarus Pit thing. Isn't one of the pillars of the Nolan Batman francise that there's no supernatural stuff?
