I'm kind of torn about this show at this point. Unlike pretty much everyone else on Earth, it seems, I enjoyed the first half of the second season? That being said, I've only made it through the 6th episode. I downloaded the 7th, back in November when it aired, but even though I like it when I watch it, every time I start to watch it my mind drifts to doing pretty much anything else instead.
I'm not sure how I can be both completely entertained and completely bored by this show at the same time, but I am.

I think today's episode made up for the last episode and next week's episode looks like it's going to be even better.

I'm learning some uncomfortable things about myself watching this show. For instance, I know that it would have taken me all of 10 seconds to put down that poor bastard on the fence.
At first I liked that they were diverting from the comics so much, but now I feel like they're just manufacturing new ways to make things difficult, and by making characters do extremely stupid shit that no logical person would do. Okay, I feel like I'm always being overly critical of this show, so I will say that I'm really liking the second half of this season. They're balancing the action and drama a lot better now.

Aside from one or two moments, this was probably my fav episode this season. Loved the Rick vs. Shane brawl. Hated that Rick came back for him.

Agreed, I really enjoyed it. They did a better job of balancing the drama and the action this time. They also made the good decision of not trying to shoe-horn every character into the episode and just focused on a few. Andrea and Lori continue to be the worst-written characters on the show. They've done such a shitty job with those two so far.

I think this last episode was my favorite one of this season.

I finally finished season 1 on Netflix. Really wishing season 2 were on there. Anyone know of a possible site that one may possibly view such things similar to season 2? For educational purposes...

boo, he was like the only one I liked. glad I stopped watching. I feel like the best move they could make would be to kill off Rick, but I guess I can't really judge anymore

Well it's about time, haha. They even kept it sort of like the comics by having Carl (wearing the hat!) put down zombie Shane. And his and Randall's reanimations opened up a pretty huge revelation that I figured would be coming soon.

Not really a spoiler so much...but As someone who hasn't read the comics, and having no sense of who anyone is, or even having anticipation over who might be in the show or not, the last scene with Andrea was pretty much the most amazing "HOLY FUCK WHO THE HELL IS THAT?!?!" moment. It was kind of beautiful and made me pretty much scream at the TV over the needing to wait until the fall for next season.
Also, maybe the answer to this is in the comics and maybe it isn't, but last night, Jim turned to me after Rick's revelation, and was all, "if Lori loses the baby will it change and try to eat its way out of her?"

Man, they handled that moment SO perfectly. I can't even imagine what people who haven't read the comics were thinking when it happened.

That moment pretty much almost made up for all of the slow episodes at the start of the season. It was just jaw dropping "WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING?!?!?!"

That character fits perfectly into the comic book world, but their appearance on the show is really jarring, in a good way. This show needed some weirdness.

Man, they handled that moment SO perfectly. I can't even imagine what people who haven't read the comics were thinking when it happened. I just finished the 2nd book like a week or so ago, and I'm so glad I did. Aaron and I got so stoked when they showed her. And Sarah, that would actually make a ton of sense. I need to hurry up and get through the rest of the comics to see how that pans out.

I haven't read the comics so I have to say I have no idea who that guy is that Andrea runs into (I'm hoping that's vague enough to not need spoilers).

there's a major spoiler in the first comment, so if you don't read the comic or if you haven't gotten that far (I haven't) it'll ruin it for you

Season 3 trailer from Comic Con! io9.com/5925966/gaze-upon-the-zombie-insanity-of-the-walking-dead-season-3-trailerObservations/comic spoilers/rampant speculation: -Michonne looks perfectly cast. I can already tell she's going to be the highlight of the season. -OH SHIT MERLE'S BACK -No sign of Tyreese (boo!) or the prisoners -Obviously they're going to keep some things close to the chest, but I get the sense that they're not going to do the entire prison storyline in one season. -Having Andrea end up in Woodbury with Michonne is a departure from the books. I wonder how that will play out. -Also interesting will be how far they go with The Governor, i.e. if they make him as depraved as he is in the comics.
