Agreed. And man, they're really branching out from the comic now.
Daryl had all the best moments in this one. That exasperated "shut up" before he put an arrow through that zombie's eye was perfect, haha.
Someone said that meth he pulled out of Merle's bag was blue. I'd need to see a screenshot to confirm it, but if that's true, then well-played, AMC.

Yeah, it was on the lower end of my favorite eps from the series.

Yeah, I paused it to go to the bathroom and it was like, fifty minutes in, and was kind of surprised that the episode was almost over when it really felt like not much has gone on. But yeah, the scenes with Carl on the bed when he was conscious and screaming were killing me. I seriously do not like seeing that kid get hurt. The scenes with Shane and Rick and their bromance were kind of touching and sweet and kind of just made the whole situation even sadder and harder to watch. OH And I really liked Maggie introduction into the group, when she rode up on the horse and knocked the zombie out. I just love Maggie and am so excited for what's to come. Daryl keeps proving to be a solid character. I still don't really care much about his storyline, but I like the way they are developing him into a decent guy and a leader, and he's kind of doing it unconsciously. Like when he just gave T-Dog those antibiotics, he could have just not said anything, but he was quick to offer them up. There's a Daryl-centric episode coming up in November, and we're supposed to learn the Dixons backstory, so that'll be pretty interesting. (comic spoilery) And did anyone else catch the look Otis shot Hershel when Rick handed Otis his gun? The "Oh shit they expect me to kill zombies but we just like to keep them in our barn for safekeeping" look?

I thought the writing in this episode was pretty bad. LIke, in what universe would Lori get pissed off because the guy is only a veterinarian? Comic spoilers: Yeah, that conversation between Herschel and Rick about a cure is pretty close to one they have in the books right before Herschel makes the big reveal, so I think it's coming soon.
I'm starting to wonder if they're even going to do Lori's pregnancy. If they wait too much longer, the timing isn't going to make any sense.

Well, her kid was kind of shot and is on the verge of dying. I'd probably be hysterical and wanting a real doctor too. I wouldn't say she got pissed off, just wary of him actually being able to save her son.

Yeah, was NOT expecting that. Comic spoilers: Looks like the Maggie-Glenn *~love connection~* is coming soon. I really wish they'd just find Sophia already (dead or alive). That plotline is taking waaaaaay too long.

That plotline is taking waaaaaay too long. hahaha I was expecting her to ask him if he wanted to do the deed instead of asking him about praying. The next ep preview showed a shirt coming off so they'll probaby do it then.

I gotta say that I would have done that were I in his position. EXCEPT I would never do that if I was going back to a safe place with his wife waiting for him. I probably wouldn't have done it exactly like that either. I would have probably just moved faster than him and let them catch up to him on thier own rather than be the catalyst.

This show has been completely underwhelming so far. First episode of the series has been the only great episode.
It's still good TV, I just don't get the hype.

The well zombie bugged the shit out of me. 1. He said they have FIVE wells. Why would it be such a big deal to seal off that one and be done with it? 2. How exactly were they planning to get it out of there using Glenn as bait? Were they expecting it to climb the walls? 3. Shane said "the water is probably contaminated already." Probably?! That thing is oozing all sorts of ungodly fluids, OF COURSE IT'S ALREADY CONTAMINATED. Ugh, that whole sequence was just so unbelievably stupid. Wooooo! You get it, Glenn and Maggie! But, uh, next time wait till you get home. Comic spoiler: I feel like we're, at most, two episodes away from Herschel dropping the bomb about the zombie barn. They're dropping hints like crazy now. ALSO: OH FUCK, MERLE WAS IN THE SNEAK PEAK THEY SHOWED AT THE END

The whole next episode is Daryl-centric so ohmygod I cannot wait for the return of Merle I've been waiting for this ever since he went missing and I'm so excited. But good lord, find Sophia already, I'm really over that whole storyline.

That little speech/story by Daryl about the flower was a nice moment. It could have been hokey, but I think he sold it.

I think they meant for him to get close and throw the noose on it. It would look up when it sensed him coming down. They should have gone out and found an animal, though.

Yeah. And idk how Glen would agree to that, I would never.
Also Dale always has this look on his face like he's seeing something weird.

If they don't drop the barn bomb next ep, then they will have officially dragged out that storyline too long. I think/ hope it'll be next ep. Because this one was pretty boring. Can't wait to see how the return of Merle goes though. How did he not die from blood loss after cutting off his hand? Whatevs. Also I will echo the "find sophia already goddamn" sentiment. Kind of stale.

So I'm wondering if the whole Merle showing up thing isn't what we think it is. Like, in the preview clip they showed on Talking Dead, Daryl takes a pretty significant little tumble and lands on one of his arrows. And the shot of Merle we got in the preview is of him going "Looks like you're not going to make it" or something like that. What if Daryl is just hallucinating from the pain or some shit and thinks he sees his brother?
If this happens I will be so angry I want some Michael Rooker craziness and I want it to stay.

I was really pissed when Glen started heading to the barn, I looked at the clock and there were ONLY 4 minutes left.
Next episode better be super amazing, ugh.

I thought this one was better than the last couple. All the stuff with Darryl was really damn good. I find it interesting/strange that this show often gets basic stuff wrong, but manage to make the most compelling character one that's not in the source material. I was pissed that all of Dale and everyone else's dumb, sexist concerns about Andrea having a gun were proven correct. They'd better give her an awesome, kick-ass moment soon to balance it out.
Nit-picky: Ok, if someone shoots you in the head with a hunting rifle and hits you hard enough to knock you to the ground, you're dead.

OH, I forgot about that astoundingly stupid line Glenn had about the women being on their periods. I want to find who wrote that scene and punch them in the face.
But damn, how hot is Maggie? I like that they kept her sassiness from the comic too.
