Is that Petunia and Lily in the field with the flower? ? That's what I figured too, I don't know who else it could be. I'm excited by the looks of the new trailer, but not really looking forward to Harry pulling Voldemort into the pile of rubble or whatever was going on there. I don't expect to everything to be the same at the books with these films obviously, but like, how could you possibly make the scenes at the end of this book any more dramatic? I'm looking forward to the dragon scene though, that clip looked pretty badass. And poor, determined Snape.

That one microsecond where Lupin and Tonks reach for each other....my heart just broke into like, a million billion pieces. I like that it looks like the movie is going to show their death. I didn't like the way it was just kind of mentioned in the books. Lupin is my favorite Harry Potter character, and I understand why it was so quickly mentioned in the context of the story, but that death is probably the most heartbreaking out of any of the deaths in the HP universe. Oh, and are spoiler tags still appropriate? I know the last book has been out for forever, but I don't want to spoil the movie for anyone who hasn't read the books... And it seems Snape's hair gets more luscious with each movie. Oh, also: Dear god, I am going to die when the Ron and Hermione kiss happens. I'VE BEEN WAITING OVER A DECADE FOR THIS. JUST GET ON WITH IT. Totally not going to see this in 3D. I don't want ugly plastic glasses mashed up on my face while I'm balling my eyes out for three hours.

Oh totally. I think I'm going to end up teary eyed in the first minute. This is my whole childhood, I never got into anything else as deep as the Harry Potter series. Also, J.K. Rowling's new project: www.pottermore.com/ Not quite sure what it is yet, but they just added the owls today.

I can't imagine this movie being anything but the absolute best in the entire series. The chapters left to tell are just so naturally cinematic. I've long been overtly critical about them all, but even so, I enjoy them, and every preview for this one gives me literal goosebumps. That link is quite awesome! Took me a while to figure out that the owls were linked... the youtube page is very neat as well! 6 days until her announcement... maybe prequels involving James and gang at school? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE? NOt to be... Here's a bit on how it all came about. The success of Harry Potter makes me wonder if JKR is gonna stay married to the franchise for most of her career; that is, when you have a success this big, people tend to bleed it as much as possible.

Played Harry Potter Scene It last night. Kicked ass. Also, apparently Gandalf is among the famous wizard portraits in Dumbledore's study in Chamber of Secrets. Who knew?

PotterMore was just announced. Seems to be a social thing mixed in with the ability to delve into the book itself. God, I make it sound awkward. Super Excited!

Her announcement was really vague. Here is some more info:
-In the new website, the storyline will be brought to life with sumptuous newly-commissioned illustrations and interactive ‘Moments’ through which you can navigate, starting with the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s (Sorcerer’s) Stone. On entering, you choose a magic username and begin your experience. As you move through the chapters, you can read and share exclusive writing from J.K. Rowling, and, just as Harry joins Hogwarts, so can you. You visit Diagon Alley, get sorted into a house, cast spells and mix potions to help your house compete for the House Cup.
-The launch of #pottermore will have more than 18,000 words from J.K. Rowling, but that is only a third of what she has written so far.
-JKR is excited to include a long backstory on McGonagall - her childhood, ministry career, early heartbreak. From Professor McGonagall’s love for a Muggle as a young woman, to how the Dursleys met; from new information about Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff houses, to details about wand wood, the fresh Potter background from the author already stretches to 18,000 words, with more to come.
I'm actually pretty stoked on this. It's like an mmorpg, a social networking site, and a book club all rolled into one.

In each chapter there are interactive "moments". In the first book there are 44 of these moments. One such example includes Diagon Alley where you can enter Gringots (the wizard bank) and pick up 175 galleons -- the in-game currency. You can then use this to buy items on your shopping list from shops such as Wiseacre's Wizarding Equipment.
On the journey to Hogwarts you can explore a virtual train carriage, finding digital trinkets such as magic beans and a different spell cards that you can add to your personalised trunk for use later. The trunk can be accessed on your profile page which shows all of your friends, digital wallet, all of your digital items, details about the wand you have and the house you are in.
The Sorting Hat -- which allocates users to a Hogwarts house -- is a lot of fun. You go through a series of multiple choice questions to assess your character. Based on your unique responses you get allocated a house -- Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin. I volunteered to be sorted into a house in the press conference and got sorted into Gryffindor.
Having been sorted into a house, you can challenge fellow students to wizard duels or by successfully mixing potions in order to win points for you house. This part seems to play a little like a multiplayer game -- with leagues of point winners competing against each other.
You can also see what your friends are doing on Pottermore -- you can see where they are in the storyline and go and meet them should you so
