dude. I'm going to the pacific northwest next month and noticed that their tour dates there coincide with me being there. Except I don't know where I'm gonna be each exact date, so I don't know if it will be Portland, Olympia, or Seattle. But it would be pretty rad to see The Men + Hysterics (+ Milk Music).

Does anyone agree with this? There's a super weird conversation going on in my facebook feed that started with a picture of three kids showing off their Misfits, Rancid, and Casualties patches. I dunno, maybe I'm looking into it, but that makes no sense to me, and the kids talking about it are total tumblr goobers. -- In other news, I finally got around to ordering the Hysterics' 7". Stoked to finally have it.

I don't really know what I was thinking last night. Does anyone consider Minor Threat down-right filthy punk? I've never thought of them as that and it just sounds weird to me?

Their recordings were pretty low quality. Maybe that's what they meant? I dunno. It's not like they called Ramones' End of the Century filthy.

I miss hardcore. I really need to get back into it. The past few years I have been so disconnected from music except shitty club music.
Getting better!

i'd have to say that Omegas - Blasts of Lunacy was my favorite hardcore LP last year. band is gonna do big things. it was a pretty good year though.
also, that new Ceremony song rules, i cannot wait to hear the album in its entirety. it's still weird that Matador is releasing it, but I have faith.

this is a fantastic record, goddamn. Ryan, check out The Men's newest, it's not really hardcore, but I think you'd dig it. also: -Omegas (fast 80's style hc) samples here: omegas.bandcamp.com/ i would recommend getting the entire Blasts of Lunacy LP though. -Altered Boys (again, more 80's style hc) alteredboysnj.bandcamp.com/-Sabertooth Zombie (imo, the best hardcore band going, i cannot get enough) music.tgrex.com/album/human-performance-iii listen to Banana Milk for an introduction -Weekend Nachos (closer to TT's earlier stuff, i guess?) weekendnachos.bandcamp.com/releases-Code Orange Kids - codeorangekids.bandcamp.com/-Cursed (now broken up, one of the finest canadian hc bands. all three LPs are worth listening to) -Burning Love (ex-Cursed, more rock'n'roll oriented than Cursed) -Burning Sensation (fast throwback hardcore, like Omegas/Altered Boys, but out of Australia this time) soundcloud.com/ros-records/sets/burning-sensation-burning-Power Trip (thrashy hardcore from TX) powertriptx.bandcamp.com/-youth attack bullshit: Hoax, SQRM, and Raw Nerve are all worth checking out. -Creem - soundcloud.com/katorga-works/kw-019-Natural Law - soundcloud.com/katorga-works/kw-015i suck at descriptions, so i left out a couple, but those are all fairly recent bands making good music. also, check out Toxicbreed's Funhouse, you should be able to find material from some of these bands, plus a lot of newer hc bands. toxicbreedsfunhouse.blogspot.com/hope you find something you like!
