I was surprised that the show/actors didn't win at least one Emmy.

After I finish season 3, I'm going to my parents' house to watch whatever new episodes on demand because they have Showtime.

I was going to buy Showtime earlier just to watch Dexter but apparently I have to buy all 11 Showtime channels together. Fuck that noise.

Totally, Jess. And he probably set it up as a mugging because he always sets up crimes to look like something else.
This episode ruled! I really enjoy watching Dexter be sneaky, haha. And that scene in the bathroom when he kept saying possible ways she could get caught for shooting him was sweet. She was just like "aw, fuck."
And I loved watching him hiding in the corner with the syringe. "Marco..." GOD this show is awesome.

Yeah, I have a feeling that this might be the catalyst to them starting to 'catch' Trinity if that is how the show is going. If he did do the shooting/mugging, he's broken his pattern and that is usually the downfall to any of the serial killers.

This show is really great. Season 3 wasn't quite up to snuff, but so far season 4 has more than made up for it. Michael C. Hall is one of the best actors around.
I'm just afraid that the high ratings it's been getting lately are going to tempt the studio to extend it out for five or six more seasons, when it's really only got another season or two in it before it needs to be wrapped up.

Yeah, but Showtime really does well with not fizzling their shows out, in my opinion. So I think Dexter is ok.

I don't know. I just haven't been enjoying this season at all. I think I'm two episodes behind because I started watching the one before the most recent and just stopped because I really didn't give a shit. I'll try again later, but this season has just bored me to tears for the most part.

I think it's held up the interest/tension that the last season seemed to seriously lack. And come on... John Lithgow as Trinity is nothing but amazing.
Not a fan of the stupid LaGuerta/Angel relationship woe thing, though.

I regain interest every time Lithgow is on the screen, but it's just not enough to keep me hooked. I'll stick with it for the rest of the season, because I'm not one to give up, but I don't think I'll hang on after that.

I really want Deb to find Dexter's mom out. They've been hinting at it all fucking season and I just want it to happen. Also, anyone see another Doakes kind of storyline with whats-his-name/Deb's partner?

I'm only up to episode three of the first season, and it's alright so far. His character is a little too over the top with the whole "I have no feelings" thing, and his actions contradict that. Still better than most of what's on TV though.

I am also interested to see where they take the friendship between Trinity and Dexter.

I though it was pretty clear he was just pretending to care about everyone except Deb -- even Rita. Yeah. But as the series continues, he slowly realizes that he does have 'feelings' for them. However, I see them more as possessive feelings than anything truely emotional.
