Modest Mouse is playing an ampitheater near Fargo in September. Totally, totally going. Just need to find a concert buddy because I'm starting to get sick of going to shows alone.

Tsunami Fest line up leaked early. Holy fuuuuck.
Wu Tang, Body Count, Life of Agony as well as a grip of hardcore bands. I will have to drive up from DC. I really hope I don't miss any of those three.

Wu Tang and Mobb Deep? That sounds like a lot of fun. Body Count would be fun, but man, i really wish Chaos in Tejas was still a thing, that was the HC fest i wanted to go to the most. Think I'm also going to this now too, my buddy in San Fran is coming home for it. Springing for VIP tix because goddamn, I really want to meet Doomtree and possibly meet Trash Talk and Aesop Rock. Plus, Surly is sponsoring it and drink ticketssssssss. doomtree.net/zoo/

It's weird because day 1 is apparently at the hockey arena in Reading. I don't see any of those acts, even combined, pulling in the numbers to justify that. Maybe they will have it scaled down somehow. Should still be fun regardless. I hope BC runs late because I will have to leave from here, try to haul whatever ass I can in horrendous DC/Baltimore/95 in general traffic, get my sister in Bensalem and shoot over to Reading. The show doesn't start till 530 so that buys me some time but fuck, I wanna see BC! Day two will be fun as hell too. Stoked for LOA.

letlive/Killswitch/Rise Against show was so good. Was able to get pretty close to the stage during letlive and I wish they could play longer because they are incredible live. I'm not understating that either. They have so much energy and they managed to stay on point too. I got to meet Jason after the show and he's such a chill dude. Talked to basically everyone that hung around after the show, which was awesome. Had a blast during KSE's set too and they played a lot more songs than I thought they would. Jesse had to basically do double-duty on vocals since Adam was sing and couldn't sing his parts and nailed just about every song. Also impressed with how well he sang Howard's songs because they don't exactly have similar voices at all. Rise Against were really good. Kind of a shit crowd and it was a greatest hits set but they put on a good show. I was drained/exhausted from the first two bands so I watched their set from the back and learned the hard way that's where all the drunk people congregate. Still a great show despite that. I'll probably have no voice until Sunday.

The Menzingers & mewithoutYou are doing a co-headlining tour and it's coming to the Black Cat in late October. I'll definitely be there assuming there's no conflict with anything. I don't have much planned for August but late September/October is starting to get crammed for me.

Thinking about going to Riot Fest in Chicago as a brief vacation once my project's over. Not sure if I want to spend the money but the lineup for those days look so good and I'm not sure if Thrice will play close to my area again.

Underoath announce that they're doing a reunion tour and playing Define the Great Line and They're Only Chasing Safety in their entireties both nights. I already bought my tickets and I am so fucking stoked. It's not til April, though. ?

That Underoath tour is coming here in April and I'm thinking about going to it even though I've never been the biggest fan of them.
Probably going to the Four Year Strong/Defeater/Superheaven show in early October. The Wonder Years also announced a tour that's coming to Baltimore in November. Thinking about going to that too but it's three days after the Parkway Drive show and I'm terrible at concert recovery.

Modest Mouse tonight! I was checking out their setlists and they've been changing them every single night and hitting songs from nearly every album in every set, so I'm really stoked. There were even a few recent shows with no Float On, which was kind of shocking.

holy shit, Modest Mouse was incredible and that's not me being my normal hyperbolic self. They ended up playing 26 songs for 2 hours, but it never felt like it was pulling at any point. they also ended up doing 2 encores and it was just... fucking awesome. the setlist was pretty much everything I wanted except for like Lounge (Closing Time), Dance Hall and Tiny Cities Made of Ashes, but I really cannot complain about those missing at all. i know Modest Mouse has a reputation for sometimes being hit or miss live, but they knocked it out of the park last night. edit: what the fuck proboards, why do you keep changing pulling to pulling or not saving my edit? ? EDIT 2: oh. i'm an idiot and found one of the filters. d.ragging

Tonight I learned a few things:
- Uber is expensive. - It's really easy to get "barricade" at the Ottobar if you show up before the first band plays. - Being up front at a Norma Jean show is a good way to get yourself hurt, especially when their old singer comes out to do a song with the band. - Spencer from Underoath has a new band apparently they have a pretty big following. - '68 are really fucking heavy for a two-piece band. - I was stupid for not liking Norma Jean when I was younger. - I need to start wearing earplugs at shows.
What a fun night.

I always wear earplugs unless it's someone I know I'm going to be in the pit singing along to.
Are you going to or do you wanna go to the Korn show at The Fillmore?
