A friend of mine here has a hand in organizing an art/music festival thing and she booked of Montreal in November. YAS. I'm going to touch Kevin Barnes.

In the middle of The Deadly Rhythm they broke into a Reign In Blood cover. In a tiny venue. Everything was perfect. Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt. Except my knee. Vikki's tombstone.

So stoked for that Darkest Hour show.
My friend's taking his sister to see Frank Iero on Sunday night and I'm thinking about tacking along since Against Me! is headlining and he said he doesn't mind sticking around for their set.

I'm really leaning towards it. I will probably end up going if I can meet up with yall.
AM is like Bouncing Souls for me. I like what I know and I know they're good but it just doesn't always click. I explained it to Corey. He knows what I mean. The more I hear them, the more I am starting to like them.

jfc, Brand New played nearly a flawless set. I was so surprised they pulled out 2 YFW songs this time since last time they only played No Seatbelt Song. i think the ooooonly thing that could have made it better would have been either Not The Sun or Jaws Theme Swimming (I would have also gladly taken Untitled 02, but lol who am i kidding). definitely experiencing some serious post-show depression right now set: Mene Sink Gasoline Millstone You Won't Know Sic Transit Gloria... Glory Fades I Will Play My Game Beneath the Spin Light Okay I Believe You, but My Tommy Gun Don't Mix Tape Seventy Times 7 At the Bottom You Stole Brothers Luca Degausser Jesus
Encore: Play Crack the Sky Sowing Season
edit: I really neglected to mention Manchester Orchestra who also killed it. they sounded absolutely stellar and I got into a few songs that I really didn't like on the records. the opener Cloakroom was pretty cool too. Jesse was kinda hiding out in the back watching them and he was really getting into it, at one point he was rocking out with his eyes closed and Andy from MO came up and tapped him on the shoulder and they both broke out in huge grins. dude is still my biggest mancrush.

Not sure if I'm going to make it to all of these but there's a lot of good shows coming to the area:
July 25th: Dave Hause July 29th: Rise Against, Killswitch Engage, letlive. Aug. 20th: High On Fire, Pallbearer Aug. 25th: Social Distortion, Drag the River Sept. 14th: The Fall of Troy (They're playing all of Doppelganger so I'm interested) Sept. 24th: Norma Jean Oct. 4th: Frank Turner
The only ones I'm definitely going to are letlive, High On Fire & Norma Jean, the rest are "maybes."

I will always harbor an irrational hatred of Fall of Troy after seeing them with Thursday. Goddamn guitarist kneeling on my shoulder. That list of shows sounds awesome though.
I just got into town for Torche and Melt Banana. I have absolutely no idea what to expect from Melt Banana and I am suuuper excited.

I didn't know they were back together until I saw the show on The Ottobar's site. Apparently they reunited awhile ago after Thomas played in Chiodos for two years. Kind of glad I didn't know about the latter.

Last night was sooooooo fucking awesome. Melt Banana wer so damn loud for a two piece and that handheld drum machine is cool as duck. They also had an awesome cover of Devo's Uncontrollable Urge and one other song I am blanking on. Really cool set, I would love to see them again.
Torche was even better this time around than the first time I saw them. Their transitions between songs were so on point and the set list was so great. The bass tone they had was also just phenomenal. We actually ended up meeting them at a taco truck after the show, so we got to shoot the shit with them while we were waiting for our food and grabbed a pic with them. Fucking awesome night.

Guy I know had an extra ticket and I won't say no to a free concert. I think I can make a day out of the lineup if there aren't that many conflicts or if I get in on time. I'll make sure to post Black Veil Brides' set on here because I know you all are dying to know.

I perused the line up. Few bands I'd like to see but nobody really standing out.

I saw the guy who wheelchair crowd surfed at the Darkest Hour show there. That's the only thing that stood out to me all day.
That and an alarmingly high number of parents are ok with taking their kids to see Attila.

I want to say that 70% of the crowd was teenagers with their parents. It also rained in the morning so you were walking in the mud all day. Getting to see The Wonder a Years was pretty awesome but I'll probably never do that again. Shit's way different than it was eight years ago..
