This one might be kinda tough without Ian around Currently loving JMS on Brave and the Bold, Batman and Robin, Fred Van Lente on Amazing Spider-Man, and JH Williams' gorgeous art in Detective Comics. Can't wait for the next Scott Pilgrim. PS Nick and Neal: When's Solar (that's what it's called right) gonna be finished?

The only old old comics I can really get into are Silver Age Superman which is completely batshit insane, 70s Batman, where Bruce Wayne was actually a character, and Stan Lee and Gerry Conway's Amazing Spider-Man runs which are just genuinely awesome, even for all the hokey Lee dialog.

If you like surreal things you should try The Invisibles by Grant Morrison. One of the craziest books I've ever read, and the author said he got the idea for it after he took some hash and got abducted by aliens in Katmandu.

The Walking Dead is amazing. It's one of the only comics I buy these days.
I used to read comics like CRAZY but stopped like, right in the middle of the Secret Invasion run at Marvel, and now I'm dying to catch up. I also like going back and reading the old comics to get all the back story. I've read all of Iron Man, and got about halfway through Amazing Spider-Man.

The most amazaing thing about The Walking Dead is how something so serious and well-thought came from the same guy that wrote Battle Pope.

I have no desire to read Secret Invasion. I read a couple issues in this Deadpool trade my brother got. Skrulls are stupid and should never have been made a big fucking story point.

Yeah, I quit reading monthly after Civil War, and I just came back this summer because DC was doing a new Animal Man series, and I love Animal Man. And you know, once you go to a comic book store, you can't really force yourself to buy just one book right? Well, that and Morrison doing Batman with Frank Quitely was pretty much unavoidable.
And then they put Fred Van Lente on Spider-Man who wrote the best Spidey issue of the decade (#589) so Marvel got me back. And Immortal Weapons, because Immortal Iron Fist was/is the shit and all the characters from it were awesome too.
But Dark Reign just frustrates me. I don't wanna see the bad guys win over and over and over again. It seems like Captain America: Reborn is gonna be the lynchpin in the whole thing, so I will be excited to see Cap kick Osborn's ass with Brubaker writing it, because he rules.

Can't wait for the next Scott Pilgrim. I re-read all five, and I am pretty stoked for number 6. The subtle humor is amazing. If you like surreal things you should try The Invisibles by Grant Morrison. Morrison's so strange to me, he said he was straight edge until he was 30 and then decided to do everything he had never done before and went around doing every drug and wearing women's clothes for a while.

That series is actually really impressive for both giving Cable an actual personality and having good serious Deadpool moments. I got to interview the guy who writes Deadpool: The Merc With A Mouth and he signed my issues for me. Hooray job!

I have been avoiding the comic book store since my classes started. I know that if I go in there, I'm going to spend a lot more money than I can afford to. Which means I've been on a serious comic book dry spell these past couple of months.
