I went to Rainy Day Records in Olympia WHAT THE HELL???!!!! WHEN? WHAT DAY OF THE WEEK? WHAT TIME? WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE I wouldn't remember but I still have the receipt. 07/28/11; 12:39. That was a Thursday. I look kind of like this: without a moustache. In all seriousness, I was wearing big dark sunglasses and a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood on, even though it was warm enough not to be dressed that way. Someone was blasting the air conditioning in the car. There were two guys working behind the counter while I was there. One was kinda pale, with blond-ish hair, the other had black hair and darker complexion. I think the second one had a moustache? Maybe not. Well, it's a good store! The only disappointment was that outside there was a sign that said there were LGBT comics but I didn't find any inside

Yeah I don't work Thursdays. Shit! I know exactly who you were talking about though. Glad you got some good scores. I think the LGBT comics were on a flyer for Danger Room Comics, another business downtown (we often have flyers for other local businesses in our window). Anyway, neat!

Recent purchases:
Sugar- Copper Blue (reissue, so I'm not as cool as Stephie, but I'm still glad to have it) Fucked Up- David Comes To Life Iron Maiden- Powerslave (original, in mint condition, for $18. Best find I've ever made.)
Also, after months of postal mix-ups, I finally got my Wild Flag LP. It came with all sorts of goodies, too: A Merge Records sticker, poster, button, and a temporary tattoo (haha).

I really want to be able to cough up the $50 to get Eddie Hinton's Very Extremely Dangerous off ebay, but that seems like such a large amount of money these days.

Listening to the first Stray Cats record right now. I bought it off of eBay when I was a teenager because it had supposedly been signed by Brian Setzer. I never really cared, because either way it's an original pressing of an awesome record. But I just looked into it, and I'm 90% sure it's a legit signature. Brian Setzer touched something I own. You know, besides my heart.

I finally got speakers for my receiver so I went a little nuts yesterday.
Ruiner - Hell Is Empty Flatliners - Cavalcade La Dispute - Wildlife Black Flag - Damaged And something from Manic Ears records I can't seem to find anywhere online. It's called Rektum, but that's pretty much all I know. It was real cheap.

Fuck yeah, found a clearance sale on vinyl while shopping. For 15 bucks I got: Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream Reissue (like it was said earlier, the packaging is fucking goregous) J Dilla - Donuts. Wanted this for a while, such an awesome album. Wild Flag - S/T. Haven't even listened online, but I figured why the fuck not?

some good scores in the UK yesterday...it's weird to see the differences in stuff that is common. in the states, people FREAK OUT if they see an original smiths record (not a reish) for under ten bucks. in london there are like stacks of them. i picked up a couple for 5 quid each, as well as the talking heads' "77," which is pretty much only available as a $25 reissue in the US. also scooped a bunch of kate bush singles, buzzcocks/jam/small faces 45s, and babes in toyland "fontanelle" which i have NEVER SEEN BEFORE in america. cool!

My parents are moving and offered to give me their record player since my mom never uses it. I'm thinking about it but I only have one record and I'm not sure if I want to get into collecting vinyl while I'm still looking for a full-time job. I've been looking for an excuse to start, though because it seems like a fun hobby. Plus, my friend always raves about how much "better" music sounds on vinyl and I'm interested to hear the difference. If I do start, I'm probably buying this first. store.noidearecords.com/products/awilhelmscreampartycrasher

Got a record player for Christmas. So far all I own is Madonna's Immaculate Collection and a Bruce Willis 7". I'm restricted by funds so I think charity shops are gonna be my main source of records at the moment.

Checked out a place a few towns over on a tip and was pleasantly surprised. Typical classic rock and r&b selection but surprisingly decent used punk collection.
What'd ya get?

I went, but I didn't get any RSD releases. There was only one thing I wanted (Heavens To Betsy's Calculated LP) but they didn't have it/were out. It was limited to 1000 and it's already going for $80-$100 on eBay, so I didn't have much of a chance, haha. Just need to hope Kill Rock Stars decides to repress it I guess. I did pick up the new Cloud Nothings and a CD copy of the new Banner Pilot, though.

Not that I have any intentions of flipping (already listened to Otis and it sounds great), but it's always fun to see what things I got are going for on ebay. A copy of The Dresden Dolls sold for 100 and Otis is up to 80.
