Yay, I got Against Me! is Reinventing Axl Rose in Brighton while I was home. I usually don't pay much attention to colours and stuff but it's green marble and really pretty.
I also got a handful of my grandparents' records, including some Eartha Kitt and David Bowie. It was a good week!

I haven't used my record player in a long time. Hooked it up yesterday for the first time in who knows how long. All the speakers I have keep fading in and out, so for the time being, I'm using my headphones. I tried cutting and stripping the speaker wires, which helped from them cutting in and out completely, but the problem's not resolved. Pretty sure the speakers are just busted. I know one pair being busted was why I put my turntable away in the first place. Oh well. I set up my own little listening station in the empty bedroom next door. It's peaceful. Can I just say that Aerosmith (particularly "Dream On") sound especially great on vinyl?

That sounds so great Aaron, Aerosmith is prime spring/summer music.
When I moved away from Berkeley three years ago I took my records to my aunt's house because my house literally gets too hot in the summer and I haven't seen them since. I have about 300 and I'm sure they're fine but I worry sometimes. I don't have a record player so it doesn't matter for now though. When I went down for spring break Dev and I went to amoeba and I got two Taylor Swift records and the Sibylle Baiere. So I need a player, bad.

Sarah and I listened to the first half of AOD earlier. I think it's something with the receiver. When I turn the volume up past a certain point, the speakers stop cutting out. My records have been in my closet under Sarah's hanging clothes. I'm nervous. I need to get them out of there and make a new spot for them.

Went to my local store today. They were doing 20% off everything today including leftover RSD stuff. Bought LCD Soundsystem's The Long Goodbye boxset and the new Childish Gambino. No regrets.

Been looking up cheap ways to clean my record stylus and records. My mind has been blown by some of these methods. The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser method to clean the stylus is going to be my way to go. Gonna pick some up tomorrow, because I'm sure my needle is real dirty. Just drop the needle in the dry eraser a few times and it's as good as new. Then people use WOOD GLUE to clean their records. Not something I'm gonna bother with since I have a cleaning kit already, but still crazy.
Edit: Turns out we had a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser because it came with a box of Swiffers as a sample! Fuck yeah! Worked great!

That's a sweet tip. I was just sitting here thinking my needle is very dirty.
