Let's all take a moment to reflect that David Carr is now a Super Bowl champion.

I'm still stunned that Eli has more rings than Peyton.

GUH.
I mean, I don't LIKE the Pats but I'd prefer they win to the Giants. I got mildly drunk so I wasn't fully in the moment of the game...probably a good thing? My husband was wretchedly pissed with the whole team and won't speak of it. hahaha.

Is that in response to the salary cap penalties or the trade to get the #2 pick?
Panthers are in for a dull day of free agency since we don't have much cap space to work with, but I wouldn't mind us signing Antonio Garay from San Diego. We desperately need a defensive tackle.

"The Vikings are looking replicate the Patriots two-TE offense by signing John Carlson. The problem is both of their TE's suck."
Walter Football's critique of the signings is always good for a laugh.

So far we've picked up a corner and a backup QB, and we're closing in on deals with a guard and a safety. That's all of our biggest needs addressed before the draft even happens. I'm quite happy so far.

I'm hoping Manning goes to the Dolphins. I just think he'd work well there. And I'd get to see him play Brady twice a year. I hope he doesn't go to the Broncos. I enjoy the lulz that is Tebow way too much.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand the Matt Flynn hype? I know he played well in the few games he has started but he's only started in like three games. I can understand teams in need of a QB wanting him but there's no way in hell that I would give him a big contract.
Speaking of big contracts, the Bills got Mario Williams. I'm not sure what they'll do with him but if they use him as a DE then they'll have a beastly defensive line.

Woo!
The only way this could have been better is if Manning threw Bud Adams under the bus. "Of course I'd never play for the Titans, and I hope Bud Adams rots in hell."

He's a decent qb but I do think having the receivers he did helped a lot in his starts. I also don't expect him to be GREAT but can you really do worse than Tavaris Jackson? At least they are competing for the start. I am quite sad about Tebow leaving! I WANT HIM TO BE THE STARTING QB! And Jets already said he's just going to be an option qb, nothing more. Fuck.

The Seahawks gave Flynn a decent contract so I don't have a problem with the signing. I just thought it was odd that he was one of the most sought after free agents this year. Curious to see how he does in Seattle.
I'm so glad that the Saints have been exposed for the shit-stains that they are. Fuck them.

Eh, I don't think it was excessive. They need to come down hard on that kind of shit.
I don't get the point of that article. The increasing focus on player safety vs. fans wanting to see hard hits is an entirely different issue from coaches giving monetary incentives to players for deliberately trying to injure other players.

The NFL already had rules against giving incentives for injuring players and the Saints/Gregg Williams completely disregarded it with this practice. I know that this is all Williams' doing but Payton knew it was going on and should have stopped it when he had the chance. Goddell needed to set an example out of the Saints to show that this kind of garbage isn't acceptable.

It's just kind of a bummer that these penalties had to come down on one of the only feel good, likable franchises in the NFL.
Its important to protect yourself in the face of these lawsuits, but it has to hurt the brand to come in with such an agenda- a vendetta against one of the league's best, most enjoyable teams.

I don't think his penalty was too excessive. I think other penalties have been too lenient.
