Shirley threatening the door man was pretty awesome.
Kind of an uneven episode, though. Funny, but didn't flow well. Like they felt they were writing a one hour show and then took a bunch of stuff out to make it 30 minutes.

I'm slowly working my way through Season 1. This show is hilarious.

I thought this and The Office were similar last night: not a lot of laughs, but plenty of nice emotional moments.
I'll let it slide, though, because I'm sure next week's will knock it out of the park.

This week's episode was really fucking weird. A lot of it was funny but it was really jerky and flowed horribly. And the colours seemed all weird.

Yeah this week's episode was kind of a drag.

I really liked that episode! My pal and I were really paying attention to the math of how Troy and Annie could have gone to school together for 4 years if he's 21 and she's 19, but then he repeated the 5th grade because he was 10 twice.
The only problem I had with it wasn't even really with the episode itself. Over the course of this season we keep getting hints that Shirley's life was pretty crappy before the show, so when Jeff and Britta are laughing at the picture of her that they find, everyone's thinking "Wow, they're assholes" before you realize that they don't know what the audience knows about her.

The Christmas episode was absolutely fantastic. And kind of heartbreaking. And a bit too close to home. But still wonderful. Favorite part? Christmas pterodactyl.

Community should have informed its fanbase that it was going to hit us with two straight super depressing episodes. But I loved both of them.

Watching Season 1. The episode where Abed makes the movie with Jeff and Britta as his parents was so sad. That episode makes everything Abed does secretly sad.

Jesus Christ, the Dungeons and Dragons episode during the montage where Annie describes the sex scene and you see her holding up 3 then 4 fingers. Amazing.

That episode is probably second place to Introduction To Film for me. So funny, and it took Dungeons and Dragons seriously, something other tv shows never do. As someone who watched a lot of my friends get viciously put down for no reason other than playing D&D or Magic in public view when I was younger, I really appreciated that they didn't go all Big Bang Theory and laugh AT the nerds. But it's not like I expected anything less than greatness from Community.

I love that they managed to have almost an entire episode in one room with nobody moving and it wasn't boring or static at all.
Also, this episode was rad. Points on all D&D jokes.

I love that they managed to have almost an entire episode in one room with nobody moving and it wasn't boring or static at all. Which is, intentional or not, a tribute to the whole point of Dungeons and Dragons where you sit in a chair for 4 hours and manage to have a lot of fun.

How have I never seen this before?! I came into this thread just browsing and then spent all of last night trying to watch every episode. I'm up to Episode 9 of Season 2, Conspiracy Theories and Soft Defenses.

It's surprising to me that so many people loved this episode, I thought it was kind of shit. And my bf who is a huge d&d nerd didn't think it was that god either. They played the game wrong and they were using an old version (lol what a dork).

Lots of D&D players insist on using AD&D 2.0, cause 3 has almost too many rules, 3.5 has a pretty bare basic setup that requires you to purchase several of the thousands of supplements to it, and 4 is heavily combat focused. Which is not to say 2.0 doesn't have its problems either, but all of the versions of the game are still alive.

The one they played is pretty much like the one I've played. Annie's seduction of the stable girl was much more successful than the time I flashed that guard, though. He arrested us anyway.

V Day episode anyone?
I loved it. Troy, Abed, and the librarian were great and Britta's storyline was hilarious.

I liked it, even if Jeff's thing at the end was a little saccharine for my tastes.
"First of all, this is the cutest thing that's ever happened to me."
Their thing about Barenaked Ladies was hilarious.

Their thing about Barenaked Ladies was hilarious. Totally. I'm very very interested to see where they're going to go with Pierce. Intervention? Intervention?

That was a great episode. The single-camera format was a little jarring at first, but it worked really well, especially during the serious parts like Jeff's freak-out. Oh, and LeVar Burton's scenes with Troy were some of the funniest in the show's history. That wide-eyed stare cracked me up every single time.
