Essentially, he'd never read the books and had written them off a popular, nonsensical drivel. This should've been the end of the argument. Tell him to read them, then he can discuss it.

Okay, so I totally thought that was Justin Timberlake for like, 5 minutes instead of Dan Radcliffe. I was so confused.

Ayn Rand is my favorite author. lol I hate when I realize I've wasted time arguing about something with someone who likes Ayn Rand in any capacity. It happens a lot, I need better Rand-dar.

Not to drag yet another debate into our HP thread, but have any of you read her novels? I ask this only because this response always seems to come from people who've only read her papers or musings on philosophy. I've been through enough Ayn Rand hate threads in my life to realize that most of the arguments are never even discussing the same thing.

I've read the Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged (and her biography? idk if that counts I can't remember if it was autobiographical or not), nothing else by her.

I've read the Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged (and her biography? idk if that counts I can't remember if it was autobiographical or not), nothing else by her. Fair enough. I just end up in debates with too many haters that later reveal they haven't actually read her works. And it ends up that I was defending her literary skill while they were defaming her philosophies. Also, in case you passed over the post, I concluded that you were right about our earlier debate. For what it's worth.
