The making-of stuff and director commentary was pretty interesting. Matt Vaughn isn't the most charismatic guy in the world, but he's a hell of a director. It was fun to listen to him take the piss out of the comic (he said most of Mark Millar's characters are "horrible") and talk about the music.

After having a ton of opinions about this movie, I will finally watch it tonight. Sadly, I will almost instantly watch every director commentary etc almost immediately after. Luckily the Boss/My Ho is out of town, making this much less judgy than usual.
Who knew you could now get Blu Ray from Redbox? Thanks, McDonalds!

A question for those who have seen it: Did you have a problem with the whole "Dave pretending to be gay" thing? I didn't even really think about it the first time around, because I was so wrapped up in the rest of the movie, but I read an article on EW about it and thought "Hmm, yeah, that is kind of problematic." They did tone that aspect down quite a bit from the comic ("faggot" and variations thereof get thrown around a lot), and at least they didn't have him act like a walking stereotype. This was really creepy. Not because of the stereotype, but because hey you are rubbing me with oil while I'm naked and functionally sexually assaulting me. But it's okay we can still fuck now that you're not gay! The rest of it was okay. I assume it will be a poor man's Scott Pilgrim- Hit Girl was rad, and I love Nic Cage.

Just finished watching this. Best comic book movie in my opinion and maybe the funniest movie this decade. And yeah, the gay thing bothered me too.

Finally saw it. It was rad, I guess, but I'm not into comic book-y stuff. It was better than I thought it'd be.
I didn't think I'd ever say this, but Nicolas Cage was fucking great in this movie.
And Clark Duke seems like the skeeziest dude ever. Still.

Bumped, 'cause Mark Millar said there's "huge news" coming between now and when issue #4 of the comic sequel comes out next month. I can only assume it's a movie announcement, in which case fuck yeah. The second comic is waaaaay better than the first one so far, and I think it would make a great movie.
