Haha, wow.
Also I was just looking at her official Facebook page and that picture of her as a motorcycle? Totally on the album cover. EWWW.

Hey, does anyone have a link to that blog where they compare pretty much every Gaga outfit to something similar worn by Madonna, Rihanna, and Christina Aguilera?

So they're releasing Born This Way at Starbucks this Monday. We got the box in today and man what is it difficult not to take a cd home early. We're also playing a Gaga mix from 3-5 Monday. I'll be closing that night so I'll probably play it all night long hahahaha.

Heh, yeah my co-worker from an old store already sent it to me. I'm about to listen to it now. I'll still buy it though because I want to read the booklet.
But yeah, I hate the album cover. Its just her face blown up from that stupid motorcycle/Gaga hybrid.

the album cover combined with the album title cracks me up. Born This Way, Born a Motorcycle.

So far, the music is fucking awesome. Its weird, dancey, catchy and dark. But the lyrics are pretty bad.

A lot of this shit sounds just like Madonna.

some of the parts in Government Hooker are a blatant Cure ripoff, ha.
I mean I actually don't even mind, as long as I like the music (which I do like that song) but it's funny.

wouldn't claiming this to be the best album of the decade cause us to severely lower our expectations for her next few albums? maybe she'll just keeping saying how wrong she was and that the NEXT one will totally blow the last one out of the water
anyways, starting the album now

Its okay. Thats about it. Definitely not the best album of the decade. Its definitely made for LGBT (arguments aside) and young kids with crazy religious parents (note: "Hair"). Some of the songs are raunchy though. I really like Scheibe/Scheisse, Heavy Metal Lover, Electric Chapel, and You and I.

what does "LGBT (arguments aside)" mean?
I love this album. Not in any "gaga is a savior" way just... catchy, fun music through and through in my opinion.

I don't like it as much as The Fame Monster, but I like the majority of it. I'd listen to it over The Fame

I think about 1/3 of the songs were kind of unnecessary. Like, they recorded it, and were like "Eh, I mean, we already have it...let's go ahead and put it on the record." But good god, do I love this CD.
I'm watching her special on HBO right now, and in the middle of one song she points to a bunch of fans in the front row and gleefully shouts "I recognize all of you!" and sang the whole chorus with them. And like, my heart kind of melted a little. You know that if you went to a concert for your favorite artist or band and the singer pointed at you and (with absolute joy) yelled that they recognized you, it would be totally awesome.
That's what I kind of like about Lady Gaga. I think she gets what it's like to be a fanboy or fangirl. I'm totally all about Lady Gaga right now, I'm not gonna lie.

what does "LGBT (arguments aside)" mean? I figured he meant it was made FOR that community regardless of whether or not she did a shitty job of it or not, which I agree with. But I guess I'd say "pandering to" rather than "made for."

I was wondering if it was about the phrase "LGBT" causing arguments.
Tanya, have you listened to the album? do you like it?

So far, the music is fucking awesome. Its weird, dancey, catchy and dark. But the lyrics are pretty bad. Pretty much. i'm listening now and while i don't see myself listening to most of the tracks more than a handful of times it's decent party background noise. Edit: after listening to the whole thing I really don't like it much. Way too much filler for me. The middle of the album sounds the same for like 5 songs. Also I thought You and I was about New York since watching the HBO special and I guess it's not? Bummer.

Honestly, what Tanya said was what I meant. I was going to reply to your question, Wes, but Tanya answered it for me first.
The album is growing on me more and more, but Blood Mary to Highway Unicorn are totally bleh. Fashion of His Love is the catchiest of those 6. It does kind of irk me that it sounds A LOT like Madonna or 80s pop in general (i.e. older drum samplings, big reverb, her voice).

I think Bad Kids is my least favorite. total filler right there

"Blood Mary" is definitely one of the better songs of those 6 filler tracks. Definitely not the best on the album. I guess its too slow and the chorus is a little boring.
Scheiße (figured out how to do the ß) is one of my favorites as well. Its so different compared to the rest of the album. Reminds me a lot of "Dance In The Dark", which is one of my favorite Gaga songs. "Heavy Metal Lover" is such a sexy/kinky song and her voice sounds AWESOME. "Electric Chapel" is a great follow-up to it.

Apparently I can't count. I meant 5.
They're on the regular. I mean filler tracks as in they're only there to make the album longer. They're not special edition or anything. The tracks I considered to be the 5 filler tracks are Bloody Mary, Black Jesus/Amen Fashion, Bad Kids, Fashion of his Love, and Highway Unicorn. That doesn't necessarily mean they're bad songs, they're just kind of "meh" compared to the rest of the album.

oh, okay. yeah, Black Jesus and Fashion aren't on the 14 track version. I thought 6 seemed to be a bit too much filler. I think most people just like to pretend the motorcycle copy doesn't exist, haha
