Because the subpar first sequel and two shitty other sequels weren't enough, they really are going through the revamping of the series. Stephen Norrington took an idea or two from Chris Nolan from the looks of it. io9.com/5387392/crow-revamp-takes-off-with-positive-script-reviewsBrandon's not turning in his grave, he's doing motherfucking cartwheels. My biases aside, seriously people? Another remake? That's all Hollywood can come up with anymore? I'm losing what little faith I had in the industry.

Documentary-style? What?
Yeah, Hollywood needs to get off the re-make train and actually start making original movies again.

The first movie was an adaptation of a comic, wasn't it? Are they taking the material from that, or from the movie? If they're just making another adaptation, oh well. I don't get the drama over it.

It was. All the Crow fans (myself included) are getting up in arms like typical fanboys/fangirls. From a outside standpoint, it's basically the whole "UGH ANOTHER REMAKE" deal.

It's not just that the first movie isn't any good, the comic isn't any good too. The whole thing is just bad.
What I'd love to see is a version of Spawn that covers the first two archs done like a law and order type show from the perspectives of Sam and Twitch.

The first movie was mildly entertaining and everything else sucked.
I'm okay with remaking movies; good stories are always retold, so it's inevitable that someone will try remake a movie to tell the story the way they think it should be. What I don't get is all the remakes of movies that were completely generic to begin with, just make your own fucking movie about a dude with a chainsaw cutting people up or returning from the grave to seek revenge. Most of these stories are a dime a dozen, the only thing tying them to the original any more than the hundreds of other similar stories is the title. I guess I don't care too much, a shitty generic movie is a shitty generic movie regardless of whether or not it's a remake, at least this way it's clearly labeled and I can avoid it.

The first couple arcs of the Spawn comic book were incredible, it totally lost it's way after a while though. The movie blew, but the soundtrack was cool, and I enjoyed the animated series.
I loved the first Crow movie, but I was never to much of a fan to get all annoyed about a remake. We'll see how it goes.

I dunno, this remake has a real shot at being good.

Am I the only person who thought the best part of any of the Crow movies was how hot Kirsten Dunst looked with her lips sewn shut in The Crow: Salvation?

I liked the first movie in spite of the fact that it's kind of wack. and it had a really, really good soundtrack.
I never even bothered with the sequels.

I mean, classic non-album cuts from the Cure and Nine Inch Nails are just the tip of the proverbial iceberg there.

I liked the first movie in spite of the fact that it's kind of wack. and it had a really, really good soundtrack. I never even bothered with the sequels. There were a lot of mistakes that they made with the second one that could have been easily fixed. Which is a shame because timing aside, it did have the potential to be pretty good. The only good thing about the third one was the soundtrack (basing that on reviews for the movie). And even that was mediocre.

I still pop in the soundtrack to the original. That's probably the only CD I still have or listen to from when I was 13.
I totally wanted to shave the back of my head like Sarah. Looking back, I'm really glad my parents wouldn't allow that.

My biases aside, seriously people? Another remake? That's all Hollywood can come up with anymore? I'm losing what little faith I had in the industry. I was talking to a guy who's written a couple pretty big theatrical movies and he said he actually got a memo from a major studio saying not to even bother with a pitch if it isn't either a remake or based on an existing comic/toy/tv show. This was apparently sent out en masse to Hollywood writers. So basically major tentpole movies are going to suck for the next few years. Also, the original Crow is sweet. RIP Brandon Lee
