I thought I'd start a new thread, since I want to talk about the storyline without giving things away to people who haven't played it yet.
In case you didn't read the title, SPOILERS AHEAD.
I really liked the story line as a whole. It goes a bit off the rails towards the end with General Shepard's backstabbing, but other than that it's solid. When the Russian invasion started, I was like "Really???" but I got sucked into it. They made fighting through suburban Virginia very realistic, and some of the setpieces in D.C. were stunning. The were tons of "HOLY SHIT" moments, the biggest of which was obviously Captain Price. I feel like a lot of the levels stuck a bit too close to the first MW's formula, but it still had enough variety to keep me interested. And using the Predator drone is SO COOL. Obviously, I wish the single player campaign wasn't so short, but I still had a lot of fun with it. Also, what did you guys think of the airport level? I found it really unsettling, but it's so crucial to the story that I can't see going through the game without it. Besides, you can always just fire into the air if you don't feel like being an asshole.
If I can figure out a way to not have my internet bill go through the roof, I'll definitely be interested in doing some online co-op for the Spec Ops missions.

The Northern Virginia missions freaked the the fuck out. In the briefing when they zoom in on the map, that's my neighborhood and high school. I was like WUTTTTTTTTTTTTT. It was very surreal playing there and in D.C. as they actually got the maps fairly accurate.
This game is so fucking fun. I def think the story of the first one was better and a bit more fun, but shit this game was good. I can't wait to get it online.

Haha, yeah dude I was wondering how you would react to having to fight in your own backyard.
The part after the EMP knocks everything out was cool, since you had to adapt and pick up weapons with iron sights.
And yeah, nothing really compares to the story of the first one, especially the climax. That last level is so much damn fun.

Maybe I'll rent this some time for the single player campaign. My little brother scratched his MW1 disc, so the campaign didn't work and I just kind of assumed it was lame because I can't stand the multiplayer. I'll give it a chance if I have some time.

I played it last night. I don't remember a single second of it though. I think it was fun?

I was trying to explain to a friend how the loading screen that is an emergency broadcast warning thingie is what I fear and expect everytime there is a beep beep beep. I really can't get over how well done the DC/Nova maps were. Shit.

Any game that comes with a disclaimer that one mission may be offensive and that I may skip it is okay by me.

I was sad that I never got much of an opportunity to effectively use the Barret .50 caliber. I think it was only available in one mission, and it wasn't very useful.

The Rust map is so much fun! I love this map. It's almost better than Wet Work in COD4.

Rust is so frustrating ! Kinda like Shipment, no matter where you turn, you're gonna get shot.
i enjoyed the storyline, and when I saw Price i actually said, "No. Way." out loud. I knew he wasn't dead from the first game, I tried so hard to convince friends of that.
The thing that freaked me out the most, is that this could probably happen. I can't imagine how Jarmes and other residents of his area must have felt to see their neighbourhood in the game.
I'm slowly making my way back through on veteran, and online is going to be my home for the next two years.

Nick, if you like the over the topness of MGS you'd probably like this one. It's so over the top and ridiculous but so awesome.

A quick note, I doubt anyone has, but if you tried adding me recently it's going to get lost in a mire of friend requests. I don't know about the US but over here there's a thing called the Monday Musing where a LIVE member can post a little piece about something related to gaming. Mine went up yesterday so all I've had over the past day is messages and requests. So, sorry if you get denied !

I've finally reached the level required to create a class. Is it immature that I always name my custom classes something like "Oh no you dinn't"?

I never think of anything clever to call my classes so I just name them after my primary weapon. Lame.

I just name them after the weapon or their intended function.

God I suck at online multiplayer. Haha. Yeah haha. I toggle the mute on other players and assume they're calling me shitty. I don't even name my classes. I just leave them "Custom Class #."

Watching my brother play the frst MW online has put me off ever doing so. Watching it is insane. I barely ever registered that someone else had popped up on the screen before my brother had blown their heads off.
