Spotify recommended a band called Sorority Noise to me today, so I checked out their album Forgettable from this year. super into this, kinda reminds me of Weezer, Joyce Manor and Weakerthans at certain points.

I was wrong. Aside from 1000 years, this Gaslight album's pretty damn good.

Only song on it I can't really get into is Red Violins.
Everyone on the Gaslight Anthem forums has been saying that they should have put Have Mercy on the album in place of Break Your Heart. I don't get it. I think it's one of the most boring songs they've released, but everyone keeps on acting like it's the best song they ever wrote.

I can't get into the new Gaslight. :/ I really like Stray Paper and Helter Skeleton, but I've only been able to get through the album as a whole once, I usually just feel like listening to something else partway through. I'll have to give it another few tries because I've barely even touched the latter half of the album. I dunno, I'll probably come around because I didn't really get into American Slang or Handwritten right away.
speaking of Gaslight... that Sliver cover on Handwritten is awesome.

A Hard Day's Night. I'm so boring. In related news, Mark David Chapman just got denied parole for the eighth time.

Hard Day's Night is hilarious. Help! is my favorite Beatles movie, but the gag about Paul's grandfather being very clean kills me.

Can't remove Get Hurt from my brain. I thought I did today with some Aretha Franklin, but nope, just a Blues Brothers moment. Best album since 59 Sound.

I just finished going through the rest of my CDs here at my folks' place. Goood god. I'm taking like thirty back, all music I bought in high school. Why do I own 2 copies of All Hallow's Eve EP? And yes I included it along with Shut Your Mouth, Black Sails & Art of Drowning. Why not.

I don't know why I stopped listening to them for so long. I've had pre-STS on heavy rotation the past month or so and they're fucking incredible.

Yeah, it's been a REALLY long time for me. I don't own anything post Decemberunderground, nor have I listened to any of it, but I think that's okay, haha. I ran into my boyfriend at the supermarket because we both stopped after work yesterday and when he approached my car he had NO IDEA what I was listening to, which would be a dealbreaker for 14-year old me, hahaha.
When we moved I took a CD wallet of my more grown-up music, but now I have all my weird punk shit now too. Yay!

I asked Nick tax to expand my metal love outside of just NWOBHM and mastodon and he gave me a good list I'm in love with. I can't stop listening to Pallbearer.

I've been harping about AFI a bunch, but I couldn't find my copy of StS while at home so I'm listening to it now via my iTunes library and I feel like I'm 14 again. I remember my best friend got a leak of it and I refused to listen to it until it was actually released. Haha.
Oh PS I only harp on here (and ONCE on facebook, god damn you guys) because y'all get it. You know.

I've been listening to Operation Ivy a lot the last couple of days. Hadn't listened to Energy all the way through for awhile but I've been in the moo for it lately for whatever reason. Still love this album, but the guitar tone annoys the shit out of me now.

Spotify FINALLY put up Run The Jewels, so I've been listening to that a ton over the last two days. can't fucking wait for RTJ2, El-P and Killer Mike are on some shit right now. El-P for President.
Producer gave me a beat, said it's the beat of the year I said "El-P didn't do it, so get the fuck outta here!"

It takes a couple listens because the hooks are kind of hard to hear I guess, but then it's alllllll you'll want to listen to. Lights On was my instant favorite and I just slowly let the album play longer and longer. And then...
I'm so sad her CA shows sold out

Yessss Replacements. So good.
I've been revisiting Beck's Modern Guilt. It's really good, shit.
Edit: Also today I listened to a bunch of albums quietly at work today, and it consisted of Beat Happening, the Halo Benders, Joy Division and the Magnetic Fields. Very baritone/bass male vocal day, I guess?

I desperately need new music in my life. I keep listening to the same Final Fantasy soundtracks over and over and over. Which, I don't mind, I just need some more in there to spice it up.
