Season started this week. Let's talk about it.
My biased (but not unlikely) prediction is the Lakers will be very close to, or even pass, 72 this season, and eventually repeat as champions. If he can avoid any serious injury, this is going to be the year of Andrew Bynum.

So Lakers fans, how about that game tonight eh? And yes I'm well aware of just how awful my Mavs are. Doesn't mean I can't enjoy the occasional good play when it happens.

Yeah, that game was ugly. The Mavs played really well, got a lot of whistles blown in their favor, and the Lakers played really bad. Formula for failure.
One of my biggest fears is that some of the Lakers are content with winning their one ring in their career. So content that they will show up and no longer play with a chip on their shoulder. I know it's early, and it was just one loss, but it seems like some of them lost that hunger. Though it's more likely to be just rust that hasn't been shaken off or lack of chemistry with the new lineup. Whatever it is, they need to snap out of it and come out of the gates running.

Kobe only had 2 points in the third quarter and I believe the Lakers overall only had 15 points in the third quarter. The rest of the team needed to step up while Kobe was struggling and didn't.

Danilo Gallinari is 18 of 36 from long range in 3 games. And the Knicks are winless.
I can see the Lakers repeating but not pushing 72. Too many teams got better, on paper at least, in both conferences. If those teams don't mesh well, then I guess the Lakers have a shot at 72.
I'm just hoping the Heat make the playoffs. Philadelphia, Toronto, and Washington should all be better while Miami only added Quentin Richardson. Jermaine O'Neal is looking good but I don't trust his legs at all. Hopefully Michael Beasley will get better. I think he will improve quite a bit this year.
