I've never been big on metal, but I did like certain songs you played in your car when I was in DC, James. What album do I start with?!

In addition to all the movies I have missed, I also suck by not having heard more than a few Maiden songs.

Start with either Powerslave or Piece Of Mind. Or Somewhere in Time.
Though, you might like their more raw early stuff. Go with Iron Maiden or Killers.

Fear Of The Dark is quickly becoming one of my favorite songs. I've heard a bit of Bruce's solo work as well. I dig.

If you want their more raw and almost punk like metal, get their first album, the Self-Titled "Iron Maiden."
If you want epic power metal as god meant for it to be, get "Powerslave"
All in all, you need to go get every album.

Ahhh, been on such an Iron Maiden kick lately.
Did anyone else see the movie on Aleister Crowley, "Chemical Wedding", that Bruce Dickenson wrote?

Jarmes, Iron Maiden will forever remind me of cruising around DC in your car while you chain smoked and told me great tales of American history.
In conclusion: fuck yeah.

It's sort of cliche, but I pretty much feel that "The Number of The Beast" is the definitive Iron Maiden album

Iron Maiden is arguably the best power metal band in history, so far. It really just doesn't get any better than them. And the power metal bands who are also very good- sound similar to Iron Maiden. They're the grandaddies.

It's sort of cliche, but I pretty much feel that "The Number of The Beast" is the definitive Iron Maiden album Maiden has so many great albums I couldn't even pick which one is the definitive one. Their first album doesn't have even one song that doesn't rule the whole way through, and then Beast up through Seventh Son is almost perfect.

As I once read, the reason why Iron Maiden have nver changed their name to Iron Fucking Maiden is just because Iron Fucking Fucking Maiden is annoying to say.

I still think Seventh Son is my sentimental favourite, hahaha. It was the first Maiden album I bought on vinyl, and I was so excited to get it.

Love the live version of Fear of the Dark. Never really got into Maiden, besides the really popular songs. Maybe I'll get around to listening more in-depth eventually.
