Can we have an intellectual discussion about whether or not we actually believe this is anything other than a quick money grabbing ploy until autotune and shitscreamo wear out?

I'd actually really like to partake in whatever discussion becomes of this, but contemplating it is too much of a burden on my being. At this point it literally makes me physically tired to read the name "Brokencyde."

They seem nice in the only interview that I've read, but they seem serious. They're trolling the entire music industry.

we need to recruit a Brokencyde fan to post on here so we can actually have an argument.

I know someone that actually thinks these guys are talented. ...talented? Wow. It would be bad enough to find them catchy, but to actually consider them talented is absurd.

I love getting drunk and YouTubing Brokencyde. Haha, that's the best thing hey. I was drinking with another OMB guy and one of his mates and he was like "dude you gotta check out this fuckin awful band" so we youtubed them. All the other guy could say was "uh... well... maybe it's just a joke?" Don't we wish...

There are way more practical methods to cram a very large dick into your mouth. These guys don't seem to know any of them.

Everytime I hear the name "brokencyde" I think of 1 man 1 jar. I can't tell if that or this "band" is more painful to think about.

For people saying they aren't talented, I'd be interested in hearing what your definition of "talent" is. They're a group of guys making (arguably, of course) music. They sell albums. They're on TV. Whether we think their music is the biggest piece of shit ever (I personally do) is kinda beyond the point..

Talent is writing music that is thoughtful and provoking. Something that takes time and should really mean something to the person composing it. Talent is creativity, skill, hard-work (?), and effectiveness.
I don't see Brokencyde doing any of this stuff. Selling albums and being on TV isn't talent--its marketing. Its the record company promoting this garbage.

I've asked this before on the OMB, but how exactly do you say their name? Is it "Broken Side"?

Ah, thanks. That would be similar to what I said, just emphasis on a different part.

Talent is creativity, skill, hard-work (?), and effectiveness. I don't see Brokencyde doing any of this stuff. Selling albums and being on TV isn't talent--its marketing. Its the record company promoting this garbage. Why does your meaning of the word talent have so much to do with intention? Thoughtful, hard work, should mean something, etc. When athletes kick ass at something, nobody questions how much time they practice, or how much they love the game. All they talk about is how far they can throw, how high they can jump, how fast they can run, and so forth. "This guy can do x y and z, he's got so much talent as a _____ player." A bands musical talent shouldn't be measured on how much passion they have for it, or how thoughtful it is. And you can market the shit out of something all you want, but it's not going anywhere unless there is something there. The record company didn't force people to listen to this shit; people decided to. The topic of why/how they got to the point they're at now is pretty hard to debate, because who really knows why kids are into this crap. Especially considering the people that seem to be targeted by this group are young teens and generally don't really think a whole lot anyway. It just seems like a stretch to say that these dudes aren't talented for what they're doing. People have mentioned in this thread that they seem pretty serious about their music. We all look at it as a joke, but who are we to judge how they feel about it? And even for the sake of argument, let's say they're all just doing this for money and don't give a shit at all about their music. Well, it's working. Is that not talent?

I've asked this before on the OMB, but how exactly do you say their name? Is it "Broken Side"? I'm pretty sure it's 'broken side' and not 'broke inside'. Like 'suicide' and not 'sue aside', or something. Who gives a fuck, anyway? This is absolute garbage.

fact is, there's very little talent involved in autotuning someone's bad fake emo vocals, or making some wack garage band synthpop for them to scream over.
