I know there's one on love songs and I know some of you posted some sad ones over there but I thought there could be one just for this. My girlfriend just broke up with me for no real reason at all so I thought I could come to you guys for suggestions to make me feel better/worse. I've already got Call It Off playing.

I'm so sorry that happened. That's terrible. Lots of Lucero, Regina Spektor and the Ergs! is usually how I do. In particular: Regina Spektor - Samson the Ergs! - If You Don't Oh man, they still put a lump in my throat.

'This Is Love, This Is Murderous' by Bleeding Through. The whole album.
... and sorry about your breakup. You'll get better in time.

Breakin' Up - Rilo Kiley Everchanging - Rise Against Song For The Dumped/ Landed - Ben Folds Soon we'll be found - Sia Maps - Yeah Yeah Yeahs If you had a bad time/This is getting over you - Alkaline Trio Broken Broken Broken Heart - Jeffry Lewis and the Junkyard Overdue - The Get Up Kids Untitled 1 - Brand New Not all specifically break up songs, but they helped me through... The best medicine is to get yourself the Alkaline Trio, Tegan and Sara, Ergs!, Get Up Kids discography's and throw them all on one giant playlist. Yup.

"One Song For You" by Sleater-Kinney. "Leave little boy crumbs you can follow back when you get lost becoming a man." Ouch.

A Jack With One Eye by Texas is the Reason. Only if you're going for the "hope it makes me more sad" thing.

Jonathan Richman - "Let Her Go Into the Darkness" Greg Oblivian and the Tip-Tops - "Twice as Deep"
both real good. jonathan richman has written a song about every stage of every relationship i've been in. that all-knowing mother fucker.

Try to find the band S ('s? s'?) album "Puking and Crying." The name says it all.
