My friend Jess has teamed up with a couple people in the US to create an awesome little project called the DIT Phonebook. It's purpose is to actively support touring bands and local scenes by putting bands and promoters in touch with folks in other towns who have said they can help out whenever possible. Whether it's simply food and a floor to crash or a house venue, you just leave your contact information and what you can offer on the website and people might be in touch for stuff. I know she's already had a lot of success booking tours and putting up people from out of province and I think it has a lot of potential. All information is used at your own discretion of course, but from what I can gather there haven't been any issues this far. Check it out! www.ditphonebook.com/

This is super awesome. I forwarded it to the more involved members of my band when it comes to booking, and we're planning on using where we can, and trying to fill out a bunch of info for Washington.
