The void in my life has been filled. It should be an exciting season.
Go Leafs.

I've always rooted for the Devils, but I'm going to start following the Wild a lot closer this year. mostly because they're closer to me, but Parise has been one of my favorite players to watch since he played at UND. it's been really nice to have it back, if only because i can come home from work and have hockey to watch all night.

Leafs look a little dangerous this year.
The Caps, however, do not.

Shitty first two games for the Canes but they were able to sweep the Sabres in a back-to-back and are now at .500. Jordan Staal has been a great addition to the team and Eric is looking very dangerous this year with Alex Semin on his line. This defense could be in a lot of trouble, though.

I'm thinking I could get into NHL. a couple of friends I know are extremely vocal fans and every time I'm at theirs to watch it it looks super fun.
WHERE do I start?

The playoffs begin in a few weeks and that's usually a good place to start. It's a different caliber of hockey than the regular season and you get to see teams play at their best for the most part. There's always a few upsets and it helps get a sense of how intense the rivalries between some teams are if they end up meeting somewhere. It runs in a best-of-7 format so two teams play each other at least 4 times and you get a pretty good example of each teams playing style.
In short, pick a team that doesn't suck and yell loudly.

The best way to get into hockey is just to watch a few games and eventually you'll get hooked. Like Nich said, the NHL playoffs are coming up and there are a few exciting races to end the season so now would be a good time to start. I don't know if the NHL is broadcasted in the UK, but try to watch whatever game is on and just learn as you go. There's also the EIHL in the UK but I don't know if their season is still going on.

I'm thoroughly enjoying watching the carnival that is the Sens-Canadiens series. I really hope they just tear each other apart.
