The run the Bruins are on is unbelievable. Reimer's starting tonight so hopefully our skid stops.

Not sure I like this new plan for the playoffs. I've always disliked uneven conferences as is (I like that the MLB changed), but I'll chalk that up to aesthetics. I both like and dislike that teams will meet often in the playoffs; I think the structure will cause too many repeat match-ups. But its exciting any way I look at it and I'm a fan of tighter geographical conferences.

I really, really hope that playoff plan doesn't get approved. The new conferences I'm okay with (aside from the Florida teams being in the NORTHEAST division to cater to the snowbirds) but it's not fair that the teams have to play their way out of the conference to make it in the playoffs, imo. I understand wanting to make the playoffs tougher but I don't think this is the best way to go about it.
Also, the West gets off easy with the travel this time around but they got SCREWED with the playoff alignment. 8 out of 16 teams can make the playoffs out of the West while the East is only 8 out of 14. How is that fair?

I totally missed that. Now I'm sad. Misbalanced always makes me sad.

I'm pretty sure the Panthers are only winning to spite me.

Canucks/Bruins game was fierce! I don't know that I've ever seen a game with more penalty play than even strength.
EDIT: Also just saw the trailer for Goon.
May be terrible, but my interest is piqued.

I'll probably see it. Anything's better than that goddamn hockey musical they put out last year with Russel Peters in it.

Three wins in a row. We're starting a good roll. It might be too late; we were so far behind for so long, and I think we need to win 3/4 of our games from here on out just to have a chance. But it's at least nice to watch a winning Ducks team again.

Went to the Caps-Pens and Caps-Canes games with James (Lucky Jarmes) this past week and both games were a blast. The atmosphere at the Pens game was seriously the most intense I had ever seen a sports game. The place exploded after Chimera's goal and Vokoun put on a great performance. His showing today against the Canes was even better. Made a ridiculous double-pad stack save in the last two minutes and was one of the few reasons we won.
Also, Alex Semin's goal today was fucking beautiful. I hate him and love him at the same time.

Trade season approaches. I'm not enjoying these rumors of Bobby Ryan leaving town. How am I gonna watch my favorite player if he's all the way over in Toronto?

Didn't Murray say that essentially everyone but Selanne & Koivu were on the trading block?

Yup. That was prior to this hot streak and sounds an awful lot like a "perform or get out" bit of encouragement, but I don't know how much a streak like this does to save the team's make-up. And Bobby Ryan is the one that has actual rumors dancing about. He's been my favorite player since he joined the Ducks; I'd hate to part with him.
Have you seen much about this Evgenii Dadonov? I don't know a damn thing about him.

My thought is that Murray used that as a way to light a fire under the team's ass but the Ducks need to rebuild right now and they don't have that much down the line in terms of prospects. I think we'll see some trades coming but I'm not sure if someone like Ryan, Getzlaf or Perry will get moved. They are all still relatively young and can be used in a rebuild.
Dadonov is talented and is pretty good defensively but he's never been anything great in the minors or the KHL. Still, I think he can be a good second line winger on some teams and he'll probably get a shot in Carolina's top-nine.

Fairly entertaining All-Star game thus far. The trick shots started lacklusterly, but Kane spiced it up. Perry's last shot was hilarious! I like the skill competition for hockey more than the other sports... save maybe baseball (Home Run Derby is just awesome).

I really hope the Ducks make the playoffs. After the slump they were in, they've been pretty unbelievable. Selanne's just an absolute monster.
I wish I could say the same for the Leafs, even though they're in playoff position still.

Seriously. I've got some mad Duck fever right now. That aside, I'm so impressed my Malkin's play this year. That guy is way to talented to be considered second fiddle to Crosby.

Scott Howson is such a joke. He is very close to sending the Blue Jackets franchise the way of the Thrashers with the recent moves he's made. First, he trades Antoine Vermette for basically nothing and now he trades Jeff Carter to LA for a first rounder and Jack Fucking Johnson.
Couple that with the trade he made over the summer and he essentially traded Voracek, Couturier and Cousins for Jack Johnson and a low first round pick. What a goddamn disaster. If he ends up trading Nash, I can't imagine what kind of low return he'll get.
I do like the Carter pick-up for the Kings, though. I know he's got attitude problems but he's on pace to score 30 goals despite missing part of the year and playing on the worst team in the league. Maybe he can help make their offense less inept.

Worst collapse I've ever seen in a team is currently ongoing with the team I love more than most anything. My faith for the Leafs has been unfaltering until now. They should be ashamed of themselves, what a disgusting display of half-assed hockey.

Sens just blew a 3-1 lead...I'm beginning to think that no one wants the last two spots in the East but the Sabres have been surging lately.

Oh man, I love playoffs. Predictions?
Flyers, Rangers, Devils, and Bruins in the east. Blues, Blackhawks, Predators, and Kings in the west.

Stoked the Kings won tonight. Less stoked they're playing the Blues in the next round, I was hoping they'd play in the conference final.

It's going to be a battle of goaltenders in the Western Semi-finals, haha. I'm shocked that Phoenix pulled this off but congrats to them.

Goddamn that was such an intense series and I can't believe Washington managed to pull that off. Seeing these tweets from Boston fans make me glad that those fucks are eliminated. chirpstory.com/li/6781

I really, really hope this is just a display of scattered ignorance and trolling. If that's in any way a true representation of the Bruins' fan-base, or Boston in general, then that's... just... appalling.

This lockout business is a fucking joke. These negotiations might as well just be a bunch of overpaid, middle-aged white dudes sitting around a table jerking off for the progress their making. I'm switching to the AHL if they miss a single game, which seems like an inevitability at this point.
