Ten Years ago today. Best band there ever was. Music would not be the same.

In the book On The Road With The Ramones, CJ says something so incredible about Joey that I feel compelled to type it out for you here.
"It was weird. I didn't like the whole ceremony thing. People got up to eulogize Joey, but nobody said anything real about him. Everyone was up there talking about the public figure. Nobody got up there and said anything about the man. Nobody said 'Joey was a fuckin' talented guy who against all odds made it to the top of his game.' If Joey didn't have the Ramones, he would've been one of those people who lived in a pile of filth in his apartment or a mental institution. The thing he should be remembered for isn't his fame or nothing like that, it's that he was a self-made man. Dee Dee too. He was such a freak and he was so weird, people tend to laugh it off and not take it seriously, but imagine how hard it is to be a person like Joey or Dee Dee --a total fucking nut job who can't keep their everyday life in order-- and achieve something like they did in your lifetime."

The Ramones are some of the most creative people ever to be crammed into one band.
RIP Joey. RIP Johnny. RIP Dee Dee.
