Finally saw this. I really liked it. I thought the fact that it was over the top made it so much better. I was tense the ENTIRE time, I couldn't relax. All of the "gory" parts made me cringe, and all of the "scary" parts made me jump. A movie hasn't made me feel that way in a while. So yeah, loved it. Pretty much. This movie was just so intensely engaging, and I was literally on the edge of my seat, leaning over the chair-backs in front of me, fists in my face, biting my knuckles... this movie is fucked up and pretty much the most brilliant thing to come out of 2010. And I still only rank it as Aronofsky's third best work.

This movie felt like a short film, in long film form.

I couldn't even sit through the whole thing. I walked out after the bathtub scene. It wasn't so much the content, but having it on the huge screen with the loud volume was overwhelming for me. I never go to scary movies for this exact reason, haha. I liked it though.

Eh, I was kind of underwhelmed. The picking black bits out of her skin bit was yuck though.

I agree, I didn't actually like the film that much. Technically, it was great. Most things about it were well done, but for me it just lacked... I'm not sure. Heart, maybe. At the end of the day, I just couldn't give a shit what happened to Nina. And I found the third act incredibly predictable.
The opening scene was gorgeous, though. And the club/ecstasy scene was seriously great.
To use a horrible metaphor, the film just felt a bit white swan. Technically brilliant, but I just didn't feel it.
