I didn't want to be excited for this. Part 2 and 3 were fucking jokes (yes, I know they were meant to be jokes as well, but it sorta killed the franchise for me). The trailer is making me a bit nostalgic, though. And the cast gets thumbs up from me so far (Cox and Arquette might be the worst additions!).
Ah, the 90s.

thank you for making this thread! Scream 2 is my favorite one! I like Scream 3 too, but not as much as the others. Cox and Arquette: worst additions? what? you're blowing my mind anyways, this movie is going to be fantastic. I've watched the trailer like a dozen times

I think I'll be passing on this movie. I thought the first was pretty bad. Though, to be fair, I haven't seen two or three, so perhaps I can't fully judge the franchise.

I've watched the trailer like a dozen times I do think its interesting how the sequels were basically meta movies laughing at the genre (and perhaps even the first movie qualifies as this), I just feel there was a bit too much cheese to go on with... especially part 3. Also, I'm just excited over those in the cast I like: Emma Roberts and Rory Culkin are particularly two of the younger actors I've enjoyed over the years.

I tried not to get my hopes up much so I wouldn't be disappointed, but I'm way too excited for this.

did anyone see this yet? I thought it was great and on par with the first two movies. the opening sequence was awesome. I really liked the ending as it was, but I thought it would have been cool if it had ended with Emma Roberts being taken away in the ambulance smiling. it'd be interesting to have someone get away with it

I saw this the other night and dug it. And the opening sequence really was fantastic. Totally agree Tommy, I thought the ending was ace but the final confrontation in the hospital kind of let me down. I thought it would have been a great comment on modern horror films if the second Scream Trilogy put the focus on the killer instead of the victim.
Ah well. Wondering where they're going with the next film. Other than the original cast members there's nobody left, unless that's why they left Hayden Panetidsfhdshf (I love her and thought she was the best teen character but I will never be able to spell her last name)'s fate ambiguous. I actually thought Sidney was the least interesting character. Still dig Gale.
The scene between Culkin and Hayden was awesome. I totally didn't suspect him until the phone went quiet.

I feel like if there's another sequel Wes Craven and Neve Campbell won't even be involved, but I hope I'm wrong. and yeah Hayden was great, so if there's another one I really hope she's alive.

So is it worth the 11+ bucks to go see it in theaters or should I just wait?

it's a fun movie to see on the big screen, but not totally necessary. I think it's worth it, but I'm a pretty big Scream fan. if you didn't like either of the sequels you should probably just wait. otherwise, I'd say go for it.
