No idea, honestly. With no transition, I've been rocking out to Today's Empires lately, but I slipped and put Dear Coach's Corner on my ipod the other day.
It makes the whole walking around campus thing a lot more enjoyable. A little skip in my step, hearing loss, etc.

getting back into them really helped with the radicalization of my politics.

Today's Empires is probably my favorite Prop album. The title track is incredible. They don't often attempt it, but when they write songs that are catchy it's great, like that one and Name and Address Withheld.

If John wasn't previously in Propagandhi, statements like that wouldn't exist! Hypothetical situations Aside, and Aside is one of favorite Weakerthans songs, both bands are pretty exceptional.

Anchorless is better as a Propagandhi song.
I'm glad I listen to punk rock again. it had been too long.

I like both versions of To Whom It May Concern. John K. does a pretty cool rendition of Gifts live as well.

So Props have a new album coming out on the 4th and it's streaming online now. It's called Failed States. Anyone heard it yet? What do you guys think? I'm really digging it. My faves are all of Todd's songs, "Devil's Creek" and "Unscripted Moments". Really the whole album is pretty solid. My only complaints are it's too short and they don't have a Purina Hall of Fame/Iteration/Last Will & Testament type closer. "Duplicate Keys Icaro" is a great song, but kind of an underwhelming closer compared to previous albums.

Yeah, it is surprisingly short. I think this is, by far, Todd's best album. All of his songs are fantastic. This one also has their best guitar work so far, IMO. I think my favorite song at this point is "Lotus Gait," with "Dark Matters" coming in close behind.

i really loved Supporting Caste, but I think this is just as good, if not better. nick, I definitely agree that this is their best guitar work yet. it is a bit short, not quite 40 minutes, but i'm a big fan of the shorter songs on this album and it's better to have this than have the album drag out too long. Rattan Cane sounds kind of like a Cursed song, which i LOVE, but it's still totally their song. Hadron Collision and Lotus Gait are standouts, but Rattan Cane and Cognitive Suicide are my favorites so far.

I think the lyrics were a bit more consistently good on Supporting Caste, though there are a couple songs on this one ("Devil's Creek" and "Duplicate Keys Icaro" in particular) that have some of the best they've ever written.

New album is taking a while to grow on me, but I am stoked to see them twice next week.

Wasn't a huge fan of PCL or TETA so I kinda fell behind on them. Finally got around to listening to Supporting Caste a couple months ago. Great album. I still haven't reall listened to the new one.
