And LSU's first championship almost belongs to Bama, since it attributable mostly to Nick Saban. ;-) Which means the Miami Dolphins are the only NFL team in history to win two National Championships in college football.

The highlight reel from this week of college football was insane. I can't believe how good some of these games were. I need to watch more college.

Pft, whatever, man. I'm pretty sure that if the NCAA had found ANYTHING against Cam they would have had no issue with making an example out of him and declaring him ineligible. This is one of the biggest stories in college football right now, and what with agents and pay-for-play being so widely used I just cannot imagine the NCAA not chomping at the bit to make the most popular player in college football ineligible for these types of actions to send a message.
Also, there's a big difference between Cecil Newton asking for money from Mississippi State (if he even outright asked for money, we still don't know what the conversations were) and Reggie Bush RECEIVING money from USC. Auburn has NEVER been under investigation for offering money to Cam Newton or his father, so why should they be punished for Mississippi State and Cecil's poor judgement?
Haters to the left, we're still going to the SEC championship game (and probably the BCS championship).

Are you living in a small box? They found everything against him. All the allegations were 100% true. It's been all over the news today. sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5870788I don't understand how you haven't seen this. There really isn't a big difference at all between Bush and Netwon. At almost any level of society, going through with the act is the same as being successful at it. I guess the only difference is, Bush at least bothered to pretend to attend USC, instead of bolting to a hotbed of rule breaking after being booted from another university for criminal activities and academic fraud. If the University of Florida is looking down at you, you must be in a tough spot. Big difference between "hating" and judging a program appropriately for willful ignorance and a player for pretty egregious violation of the rules.

The allegations against CAM aren't true. I've been following this story, trust me. The NCAA ruled that since Cam didn't know anything about what his father was doing that he can't be liable for it. So he. Has. Been. Cleared. There really isn't anything else to be said about that. You can't blame an athlete for his dad's actions. Do I think Cecil behaved poorly? Absolutely. But I don't think that Cam should be punished, especially when he had no knowledge of it or say-so.
And furthermore, these allegations weren't even about Auburn, so I don't know why you're judging them. They were ALWAYS about Mississippi State, which has always had problems with recruiting violations, so really, this doesn't come as any big surprise.
And the "academic fraud" was some guy on a message board saying he had a relative on the student committee who said that Cam was cheating. Journalists saw that and ran with it. University of Florida students who were on the committee actually came out and said they hadn't heard anything about that and there were no records to show of it. And he wasn't "booted", he left after Tebow decided to come back for another year. The laptop thing happened way before he left. Plus, he spent a year at a junior college, he's behaved himself completely ever since buying a stolen laptop, he's followed every rule and standard set for him by Auburn, he made one mistake and you're going to completely discount him for that?
And I still stand behind my earlier statement. If anything had been found against CAM HIMSELF, I fully believe that the NCAA would have benched his ass so unbelievably fast. And since they haven't, then yeah, I believe the NCAA knows more about the situation than us mere mortals, and knows enough to know that Cam is eligible and deserves to be eligible.
Also, you KNOW that I'm an Auburn girl through and through, if I actually thought Cam Newton was bad for the program or tainted Auburn's name in any way there is no way in hell I'd support him, but I honestly think he's a good kid any my favorite QB since Jason Campbell. Plus, he played catch with my brother and was so unbelievably nice to him when he didn't have to be that I can't help but think of him as an awesome guy.

The season started out so great for Arizona, and then, everything just kind of went to shit. I would have felt a lot better if we'd beat ASU tonight. However, our kicker had the game winning extra-point blocked in regulation, then it went to 2nd overtime, and the tying extra point...got blocked. Such a heartbreaking way to end the season. We'll probably get a bottom-of-the-barrel bowl game, but I had such loftier hopes. Oh well.

I missed the second half of the Civil War yesterday because I had to go to work ( ) but I watched a rerun today. THE FAKE PUNT! I haven't seen them do that all year! I LOVE FAKE PUNTS (when they're successful...). We're in the fucking championship for the first time ever. This is so awesome.

Oregon's fake punt was awesome. LSU runs mad fake field goals, but that fake punt was the best fake all year.

I should hope not.
Because we're awesome.
It's been so much fun to watch this team, especially since Chip Kelly took over coaching. Ahhhhhh. I almost want to post one of those stupid fucking "I Love My Ducks" videos, but I'll refrain because they're incredibly douchey.

Yeah, not looking forward to next year's season opener being against Oregon. Losing the possibility of an undefeated season in the first game is a real bummer.

Lamichael for Heisman? He's such a fucking punk, so I don't really want him to win that much, but he's suuuuch a good RB.

Lamichael James is SO FAST. I never get to see the Ducks play so it's going to be fun watching a team with that much speed up against Auburn in the championship game.
The latest Heisman projections have Cam Newton with 84% of the votes. Can't wait to see that big smile up there when he's getting the award.

Pitt hired Mike Heywood, which I'd normally be excited about, but WVU hired Dana Holgorsen (who was supposed to go to Pitt), who was the architect of the Texas Tech, U. of Houston and Oklahoma State offensive schemes when they ran up the scoreboard like no other.
So Pitt's basically gonna lose the Big East every year again forever.

It's so weird having so much attention on my school right now. I'm starting to get super apprehensive about Monday's game, but I'm so excited. I just hope they don't totally shit the bed like they did last year during the Rose Bowl.
Also the restaurant he mentions is on the same block as the store where I work.

From what little I've seen of Auburn, they tend to rest on their laurels in the first half, then come out strong in the second half. If that happens, Oregon's gonna win. If they come out strong and play hard right from the first snap, it's anyone's game.
I want to see ridiculous offense. I'll be disappointed if this game doesn't end 52-49.

Mike Heywood was arrested for felony domestic abuse and promptly fired. lol News story of the year. It's been good to see the Big 10 go down a river of shit, but it was sad to see the Vols go out like that. Overall a likable enough Bowl Season- especially Andrew Luck lighting it up. Hopefully Oregon runs all over Auburn.

Someone did a sim of the national title game and it ended up being 46-42 Oregon. There were like 10 fumbles between both teams.

I assume all of them on punts, if they were playing NCAA 11. Worst. Quirk. Ever.
I assume that Auburn is going to roll up Oregon if I'm being honest. Theoretically they should maul them all over the field. The closest Oregon has come to playing a team that was that physical was Stanford, and look how that almost ended.

That interception just now was hysterical. Newton didn't even throw it to the receiver, he just tossed it straight to that Oregon back.

I was just channel surfing and caught the end of this game. I have no intention of getting into college sports but all pro-sports should add horn sections. Makes everything hilariously old-timey.
