I have seen Party Monster more than a hundred times. I stopped watching it with people because they'd tend to get annoyed with my reciting of every single line.

I'd much rather watch Fight Club than Party Monster.

Other movies on top of my list include Eternal Sunshine, American Beauty, Pi, Requiem for a Dream, and Chasing Amy. Ugh, Fight Club? Really? Still don't understand why people worship that movie. Because the plot is addicting and fun, though I knew plenty of guys in high-school who overlooked all of that and loved it purely for the macho-factor. Ugh to that. good film, but not like some life-changing masterpiece. and the ending is bullshit. I hear the ending in the book is bull-shit. I love the movie ending.

Fight Club was fucking awesome.
My favorite movies all time are American Beauty or Hot Fuzz. Rushmore and Lock stock and two Smoking Barrels are also very high.

What about Life Aquatic makes it better than his other films? It's not funnier than his other movies, the characters are lame except for Bill Murray's, and nothing punches you in the gut emotionally like Darjeeling Limited, or the suicide scene in Royal Tenenbaums. Don't get me wrong, I do like the movie a lot, I just don't get how someone could think thats his best film. this is just not true. the movie has so much heart. and there's not a bad performance in it. Willem Dafoe is on top of his game. so is Owen Wilson. so is Cate Blanchett. it's such a delightfully ludicrous film. if you don't like it, you must not like fun. why would you not like fun? oh, and it has his best soundtrack. While it's not as good as Royal Tenenbaums, it's still a really good movie. Nick is totally right. It's silly and ludicrous while at the same time being totally serious. How is Ned dying not a total sad punch in the face. This movie has action, it has ridiculous comedy and at the same time it tells the story of an aging man whose life once had meaning to it and he's trying to hang on to what's left while it all steadily crumbles apart around him. It is a really good movie.

all Anderson films essentially follow the same arc anyway. Guy is a jerk, guy used to be a better jerk, guy reclaims former greatness as better jerk. this also goes for Fantastic Mr. Fox, which is really great.

Yeah, I mean Wes has his own formula and style, but that's what's so appealing about one of his films. And I mean, how the fuck can you not love the pirate attack scene in The Life Aquatic? Seriously, it's Bill Murray shooting people to Search and Destroy. What's not to love?

A lot of my favorites have been mentioned, like Party Monster. My sister writes letters to the real Michael Alig in jail all the time.
Also, Seven Pounds and Finding Neverland. I'm into all of the emotional crap.
