I like the video but I definitely do not think it's her best. Bad Romance is still my favorite. I was hoping for something more on this video but oh well. I'll still be excited to see her next one.

It really does look like what would happen if you threw a bunch of Madonna's videos into a food processor and used the result. I see some very blatant Vogue, Like A Prayer, Justify My Love, and a few others that I forgot the name of in there. Yeah, I see a little bit of Erotica and Express yourself mixed in there as well. I read a great article about how you could watch Express Yourself and then Alejandro, and it seems like Gaga's is set in the same place but after Express yourself. I really like it. I preferred Telephone for its colour and bizarreness, but this is still very Gaga. It pisses me off that it will probably get banned. If those men were women, there would be no problem.

Aight, I just skimmed the last page, and I'm not one of those who enjoy Lady Gaga, but I think it's super weird that she's inspired such debate. Like...I don't know. It's not the in the way that I'm giving her credit for being super controversial, it's just that I don't GET why people talk about her so much. She's written some catchy songs and I think she's legitimately talented, but I don't think she's SUCH a departure from standard pop music, nor is she worthy of such contention.
I just don't think this lady's worthy of such a philosophical discussion. Just....no.

I cannot stop listening to I Like It Rough. I gave The Fame a second listen the other day, and even though I just skipped over it the first time because of its title, I realized that the song actually rules! awesome.
also, the Alejandro music video is...interesting. I guess I like it. I just don't approve of the haircuts

You know, I'm not sure when it happened, but I kinda got sick of Gaga. Like, I can still listen to the music and whatever, but beyond the songs I am just sick to death of all things Gaga. Half of these things infuriate and make me sad, the other half just annoy the shit out of me.

Well yeah, nobody ever shuts up about her, no artist can release a single today without getting compared to her, etc etc. It's too much man.

When this video got released, Omona was just screaming "GAGA RIP OFF." Guess what guys? Gaga wasn't the first person on earth to have wacky hair/make-up/dance moves or use religious imagery. SHOCKER.

Well yeah, nobody ever shuts up about her, no artist can release a single today without getting compared to her, etc etc. It's too much man. It really is the most ridiculous case of media oversaturation in years, probably. I don't have cable/satellite. I rarely watch TV outside of streaming stuff on Netflix. I don't listen to the radio that much. I stick to the same few things on the internet, for the most part, and I still cant escape Gaga popping up in my life several times each and every day. It's just too damn much.

I don't care what you guys are saying, honestly. Maybe I'm a fucking sucker for this oversaturation, but jesus christ do I love Gaga. I found something in her music that i can relate and its just so fucking catchy.
Honest, if you look at my last.fm profile, in the five/six years I've had that account, she's #6. And that's not accounting for my iPod when I listen to it in the car.
I will marry her one of these days. I'm also drunk.

I also associate her to some fantastically great parties I attended/threw in college and the first gay club I went to, which was a fucking blast.
I can understand how she's fucking everywhere, though. While she's not exactly the most original, she is different in that she's all over the fucking media which, I think, was her intention. I know one of her influences was Andy Warhol, who is mostly known for bringing common, "lower class" imagery/art, such as the Campbell Soup Can, into the high brow art society. In doing so, it pissed off the high brow art community BECAUSE the Campbell Soup Can was considered as a lower class icon. It disrupted their view of what was considered "~~ART~~". Gaga is doing something similar (not necessarily the same thing). She's showcasing high fashion in her music videos and performances. When you think of Lady Gaga, her outlandish costumes are probably the first thing that come to mind. While I, and many other listeners, don't fully understand her costumes, at least they capture our attention; however, she's takes it to the next level by having soulful songs. In numerous interviews, she'll tell you that she won't perform/put a song on an album unless its straight from her heart. She's honest with her music, which is rarely found in pop music these days. And if you listen to her most recent album, you can totally sense her emotion in the song "Speechless". She also takes it one more level by incorporating her love and respect for the gay community and having a feminist approach to her music. While her idea of feminism is arguable, her support for LGBT community is pretty straightforward, which is fantastic. I've never seen a pop artist become so directly involved in politics (i.e. the Don't Ask, Don't Tell debate).
Bah, I hope that makes some kind of sense. I've been drinking. However, I also think she has a valuable reason to be so oversaturated. Her songs, ideas, and image are seriously shaking a lot of conservative heads. I know some of you are from more liberal areas, but in southern Maryland, things are pretty conservative and Gaga is really shaking things up for our forward thinking young people.

With all that said, she's hot as shit because she's actually smart and has an amazing body.
And I would most definitely "Poke-her" face.

her support for the LGB community is definitely straightforward, but she's terrible about the T. Just sayin'.
Anyway, I don't care about her as an artist (and the oversaturation P mentioned is just grating sometimes) but her music rules.

her support for the LGB community is definitely straightforward, but she's terrible about the T. Just sayin'. troof. and it kills me a little bit because with that big thing last year about her supposedly being a "man" (ick ick i hate even typing that), it was like the perfect opportunity for her to do/say something on behalf of all the wonderful trans folk out there. It's strangely disappointing because I really like her music and her messages for the most part.

Why is this thread 3 pages back. No posts for 3 months? Blasphemy. For anyone who hasn't kept up with Gaga, here's what she's done: -Helped the rally to repeal DADT -Revitalize and renew the Polaroid Camera with a modern twist as well as help create a new line of Polaroid products. She's not endorsing this stuff. She actually helped DESIGN it. - Made a song for a fashion show.-Played a couple of her news songs live. And released a tongue and cheek (butt cheek?) promo picture for the new album. -Just be amazing, inspirational and beautiful like always <3

Yeah, I've had quite enough of GaGa-as-a-person adultation with the slurs she's used against trans women and her latest potential stunt with the new video. I love catchy music but not always the people who make it.
