Can anyone recommend me some dubstep? I'd say definitely check out Rusko and Skream. They're two really big dubstep DJs. I definitely don't think they're the best in dubstep, but it's probably a good place to start. this thread was looking dusty Of Montreal? I got into of Montreal because of Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?. I'd say that's a pretty solid jumping off point, although some might disagree. And while I'm at it, can someone point me towards a Frank Zappa album? I'm pathetically unaware of his stuff.

any old school reggae, ska, dancehall, etc. classic dub album: augustus pablo's "king tubbys meets rockers uptown"...for more dancehall style dub, there's a great uk record from 1982 by ranking ann called "a slice of english toast"... abyssinians (best record is "satta massagana") are a classic roots reggae band, i'm not a huge fan but a lot of people are. king tubby, always. mad professor.

Can anyone recommend me some dubstep? I don't have much dubstep, but I do know that Smash Gordon is fucking killer and has some fucking disgusting beats. I think he's from Baltimore. He's got several high quality songs and albums you can download from his website. www.getyoursmashon.com/Dani Deahl is pretty cool too, though not all of her remixes are dubstep, but they're all pretty raunchy. www.danideahl.com/ Go to the "Downloads" at the bottom. She has 30 and 60 min mixes, and most of her blogs have downloads for individual songs, which you can download all of them as a .zip. She has a SICK remix of Willow Smith's (Will Smith's daughter) "Whip My Hair". www.danideahl.com/audio/01_18_11/WillowSmith_WhipMyHair_ChewFuPalmsLasVegasFix.mp3

To add to the Dubstep conversation: Burial if you like really dark dubstep, not the wobbly party kind. If you're into the more upbeat stuff, check out Flux Pavilion and Nero also. Also, despite what anybody tries to tell you, Skrillex is not dubstep. Sticking feathers up your ass does not make you a chicken.

Haha, everyone I know that likes "dubstep" is all up Skrillex's ass. If I have to hear Scary Monsters and whatever the fuck its called at another party, I'm going to go insane.

I can't say this without sounding like a huge douchebag, but most of what people consider dubstep right now isn't actually dubstep. Haha.

Everyone I know either loves or hates dubstep. I want to say I hate it because all I see on Tumblr is people reblogging "dubstep remixes" of every fucking song on the planet and it's aggravating the shit out of me. However, I have a feeling that I have no clue what it is.

It's true that there's a bunch of electro house that people think is dubstep just because of the wobbles and noise, but there's still plenty of upbeat party stuff that can still be considered dubstep because of the beat and dub influence. Lions tigers and subgenres oh my! But yeah, that shit gets confusing quick.

Dude would be one of my favorite producers right now if he got rid of those fucking vocals all over his tracks. Scatta is unlistenable.

this thread was looking dusty Of Montreal? Satanic Panic in the Attic. Claire, I went through Zappa chronologically and i think that was a pretty good way to do it, so I'd say start with Freak Out! and go from there.
