In Bruges is an amazing fucking movie. Word. I watched 500 Days of Summer on the plane the other day. I liked it. Today I had a Star Wars marathon (theatrical versions of the original trilogy). I bought District 9 today, but I'll probably save it for tomorrow night.

District 9. It was disappointing. I just watched that again today. Also finally saw The Hangover. Funny, but not as hilarious as everyone seemed to make it out to be.

Some I watched in the past week: Mulholland Dr. Wendy & Lucy Gran Torino Sayat Nova/Color of Pomegranates/whatever again. I got this on DVD for my sister for xmas. The Residents' Eskimo Inglourious Basterds Inland Empire and a documentary about nose jobs in Iran. I forgot what it was called.

I really love the end sequence of that film. But yes. Soul crushingly depressing.

Finally got around to seeing Inglorious Basterds. It was somehow both exactly what I was expecting and nothing like what I was expecting. But still very very good.

that's weird. I just came to post that I really did not like 500 Days of Summer. there were like 3 parts back to back that I liked (expectations/reality, part where he goes onto the street and it looks like a drawing, and the greeting card rant), but for the most part I hated it

I just watched Command Performance.Written, directed and starring Dolph Lundgren.
This has inspired me to buy all of Dolph's movies. The only one I've found so far that's not on DVD is Pentathalon. That's going to have to be a bootleg.

Up in the Air
It was pretty good. Clooney did such a great job. I definitely want to watch it again because I'll probably appreciate it more that way.
Oh, and I have never ever EVER found George Clooney handsome.... up until I saw this film. Oh, the love. <3

Paranormal Activity. Bogus.
I might see Youth in Revolt for my birthday if my brother will get my ticket.

Inglourious Basterds. I liked it. I laughed, particularly at the not-even-trying Italian. I kind of hate that I think Eli Roth is good looking, the idea of him as a person makes me uncomfortable. People should only be able to have the sort of eyebrow arrangement that I like if they're like. . .not douchebags. Otherwise they must undergo forced shaving.

I feel conflicted about Inglorious Basterds. I loved half of it and hated half of it. The Basterds annoyed the shit out of me, but the Jew Hunter/French Girl/War Hero storylines were fantastic.

Just finished Dorian Gray. Terrible. Terrible. I'm so sorry Ben Barnes, I like you as a person and I think you're a good actor, but did you have a bad day every day you filmed this? Did you hate the director and want to piss him off? Why was your acting so bad in this film? It was so terrible there is no way I can adequately describe it via this keyboard. No more simulated bjs for you, ok?

Actually the whole time I was thinking Brian Kinney would do such a good job in this role. Certainly he can do a sex scene without making me want to punch my own throat.

I just watched a bootleg of The Time Traveler's Wife. My girlfriend hated it because they left out a lot of characters and stuff from the book and didn't like Eric Bana, but I actually kinda liked it.
I rented Public Enemies last night too and couldn't watch more than an hour. So bad, hated the editing and the useless scenes and camera angles. I'm by no means a film guy, I know nothing and don't really care to, but that was horribly shot and bothered me so bad.

Emily and I just watched Boys Don't Cry the other night. It was good for what it was I guess, but all 28946 movies about trans people that end with their inevitable murders just don't...do anything. Like, they die and then it ends, there's no lesson to be learned by most audiences who need it spoon fed to them. I absolutely do not mean this in a I'd-rather-ignore-ugly-truths kind of way but it would be nice to see anything about a trans person where they aren't being maimed and raped .

I got roped into seeing It's Complicated. You'd think, "Oh...Steve Martin? Alec Baldwin? The guy from 'The Office'? Maybe it won't be so bad..." Think again.

Oh no, is It's Complicated shit? That's such a shame.
I watched A Midsummer Night's Dream last night. I was really excited but before I watched it I rotten tomatoed it and everyone said it was shit. It really ruined it for me. It actually isn't as good as I remember, and Anna Friel's accent pissed me right off. As did Calista Flockhart's face.
