You say that like it's different from any other Nic Cage movie. This is true. Although I did enjoy watching Face/Off. Then again, the last time I saw that movie was when I was ten, so that probably has something to do with that.

I've still never seen that. It may be his only good movie.
I strongly advise you to download the Rifftrax version of The Wicker Man. It'll simultaneously ruin and enrichen your life. A film so terrible that, with the right commentary, it's hilarious.

You say that like it's different from any other Nic Cage movie. What about Adaptation and Raising Arizona? Those movies rule and he's awesome in them.

It may be his only good movie. Con Air? Gone in Sixty Seconds? The Rock??? "I'll take pleasure in guttin' you... boyyy" Everything post '97 pretty much sucked. What a waste.

Watching Kung-fu Panda with my boy. It's more entertaining, I think, because he keeps on laughing at almost everything.

As far as I remember, Gone in 60 seconds sucked. The Rock is cool, I guess, I forgot about that one. I'll give you Con Air too. I still hate Nic Cage though.

Yeah, I suppose the only appeal to these movies is the action. The fact that Sean Connery is in The Rock definitely adds to its appeal. Nic Cage's recent movies just suck. I agree with Logan on the Face/Off front.

Is it actually good, Neil? It seems to be too good to be true - Wes Anderson, the guy responsible for probably my favourite movie, and Roald Dahl, the guy responsible for about 80% of my favourite childhood books.

It is actually good. I was sceptical about the whole thing until I saw it. I'd see it again, that's for sure.

I didn't like Let the Right One In either.
I watched Mean Creek last night, it was really good. Rory Culkin is definitely the most talented actor in that family, I've seen a few things with him in it recently and he's been great in them all.
