I have a friend who isn't into any hardcore, or punk rock at all really, but he loves Poison Idea. Strange but I was stoked to come across it on his iPod while looking for something to listen to at our bonfire.

Their cover of "up Front" by, I think, the Wipers, is one of my top 10 favorite recorded songs I think.

The first time I heard them it finally made sense why a lot of people (who like Poison Idea) think Rancid's 2000 s/t was shit. It just sounds like a really bad attempt to be Poison Idea.

I take back any non-backing I had of Ceremony. I need to apologize to Joey in person.

I hate Ceremony because they were total fucking assholes when opening for AFI at a secret show. I don't even want to listen to them again in case I actually think they're good.

Elaborate please? What happened? Okay, keep in mind that that was (opening for) AFI circa DU - not the mid 90's when they were anything remotely resembling hardcore. Anyway, the singer was getting super fucking pissed that the crowd wasn't getting more into it, so he started stomping on peoples' hands in the front, and kicked me in the head (purposefully). Now, if this were a hardcore show, of course I would expect something more along those lines - but really, dudes? Just be thankful that such a big band gave you the opportunity; don't get mad that you're playing to a crowd of mostly pansy DFers when no one forced you and you knew what you were in for.

I like them and they were entertaining when they opened for Have Heart.
Edit: That is fucked up btw Em.

yeah, I'm sure they have plenty of merit given how many good bands they've played with, but I've held a grudge since that show and it won't be dropped anytime soon, haha.

I still think Ceremony rule. That was the wrong crowd for that shit though.

Awww hahaha. Kinda like when Greg from DEP tossed his not working mic full force into the crowd when they opened for AFI.

Troof. They have a really neat MLIW influence along with a bunch of fast shit and I don't know it's awesome.

When did their first one come out? This seems like a pretty quick follow-up. Not that I'm complaining, and maybe my time-line is off...

It came out mid-2007, I'm pretty sure. So it's been over two years since the last one.

Local band Bully is having a free show with Not Sorry on Oct. 9th for their cd release. I hope to be there.
Also, getting so pumped for the Undertow reunion. I have two extra tickets!

Are you on the NWHardcore board these days?

It's a pretty good way to find out about shows and hear good bands, if you don't mind dealing with frequent douchitude from certain posters.

Judd is moving to Austin. They're not breaking up, but it's their last show for an indefinite period of time and I don't know if they're gonna be making more records since they have no way to practice.
I wouldn't be surprised if they did another tour though. Maybe they'll come through your area if they do.
