thanks for posting that!!! holy shit.
the test pressing was of a 7" for Rock The Casbah/Should I Stay or Should I Go. It never ended up being turned into a real 7", it was going to be made to highlight the biggest singles from Combat Rock but ended up only going out to a few select DJs for preview. Sooo excited to have it in my collection!

great song.
and yeah, Cut the Crap may be worse than other Clash albums, but it still fucking rules in my opinion!
and GOOD CALL. I'm thinking of buying another copy of it on vinyl for my collection along with the listening one cuz they're just so cheap.

my order got cancelled because dude ran out of stock or some shit like that. went to go sell a dvd and maybe pick something up, but left the dvd at home, and bought give em enough rope anyway. i probably should have put up the extra dollar to get a new copy. but whatever. this older pressing is pretty flawless.
also just won sandinista for 10.75. holla

in the last 5 months i went from being a casual fan to agreeing with the first post. pretty much all i been listening to. just downloaded rat patrol from fort bragg which is the original mix of combat rock with some songs that didn't make it to the final cut. interesting early mixes of these songs. i'm glad they reworked them for the album. the original version of know your rights is kinda bad

the original version of know your rights is kinda bad Does it feel like a completely different Public Service Announcement? feels like a weak publick service announcement. haha one thing about the clash that bummed me out. some of my early favorite songs by them, are covers.

That was amazing! I'm disappointed that more of the crowd didn't do the backing vocals in Spanish, though, haha.

The fact that a guy responsible in part for some of the best music in rock history can and will play a solo show in what appears to be a book/record store is just wonderful.

The Rock and Roll Public Library - Portobello Green, London - 22/08/09
Also, been really into Big Audio Dynamite and Carbon/Silicon lately.
The original poster is probably to thank for me obsessing over the Clash for the last year. Listened to them more in the last 12 months than I have the whole rest of the time I've been aware of them. So, Thank you. Goodnight

I think it's quite possible that a person could listen to nothing but The Clash and Bruce Springsteen for that persons entire life, and really not be missing out on the rest of the musical experience. I myself would require a bit of Danzig and NIN, but beyond that, basically everything else is filler.
Hyperbole? Maybe. Maybe not.

Replace Springsteen with Black Sabbath and that would be me. It's weird how I put off getting really into The Clash until the last year or so. Best band.

I just won/ordered a bunch of big audio dynamite's discog on vinyl. i didn't realize the copy of the globe i got was supposed to be sealed. and i'm debating whether or not to open it. got megatop phoenix for 2.99 no. 10 upping st for 0.99 tighten up vol 88 for 0.01 the globe was 10 dollars. months and months ago i found this is big audio dynamite for 4 dollars but i probably bought a bunch at this record store and most of the records are buy 3 get one free, so it was more like 3 dollars for that one. i know probably no one cares besises wes, so fuck the rest of you guys ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D i have to update my vinyl list in the vinyl thread. and i might make one of those spreadsheet or whatever jawns you people use to list your shit. the end

Nice! I love finding Big Audio records used for two bucks at my local record store.
And you really should make a spreadsheet for your vinyl! It's so fun to update.

Whwn I head they were getting back together for Coachella, I didn't think they'd do much else. They did a bunch if shows leading up to it and apparently played in New York three days after. Had I known that in advance I would have gone to that. But now they're playing here, so fuck it.

I've been listening to Sandinista all afternoon. Ive always liked it but never had the motivation to listen to it that much for whatever reason. I think its because its kind of overwhelming haha.
