Haters please leave.
Slowly making threads for all of my favorite bands. Still can't get enough of this band, saw them in CA and now I'm seeing them again on the same tour in Boston this Saturday!
Who else is still on the wagon?

So jealous of you seeing that tour with Broadway Calls, Kristin. I like these guys enough on album but they've always bored me live .

thank you!!! i would have lost my shit if i was there! So jealous of you seeing that tour with Broadway Calls, Kristin. I like these guys enough on album but they've always bored me live . it'll be my first time seeing BC! i'm excited! i kind of get what you mean about them boring you live, but i don't know, for me, they came into my life when i was looking for a band whose lyrics i wanted to sing at the top of my lungs like they were as important as the beating of my heart (not to replace against me!, but just that i wanted to have a band that could reproduce that feeling) and when i first heard them, it made me feel the way AM! did when i first heard them. the first time i saw them they played 1930 and after the line "if i just keep breathing" the entire crowd did the sigh and haha, it was just perfect. i don't know, they just came at the right time and place in my life and they could play the most boring show and it still probably wouldn't matter to me!

Yeah, that video is great.
I saw them maybe a week before the 59 sound was released, they played Sink or Swim in its entirety (with the exception of Red In The Morning), Senor and the Queen front to back, the 59 sound and even cowgirls get the blues. Was a great show but the crowd was so average. Its on the internet somewhere, i think i linked you guys back in the OMB gaslight thread.
I haven't listened to them in a while though. I think I'm the only person i know who likes Sink or Swim more than the 59 Sound..

Sink or Swim is what I first heard from them and I was obsessed with it for months, so it'll always be my favorite. "We Came To Dance" is perfect.

I am so excited to see these guys tonight, w/ Broadway Calls and Murder By Death!!!! Blarrrrghh. Can't wait! It's going to be great. I go through long spells where I think '59 Sound is the best thing ever, and then I play Sink or Swim, and can't decide anymore, hahahaha. So much good stuff on two albums, it's an embarrassment of riches, haha.

I rfeally want to see them live. They played in in some crappy festival and I didn't want to pay 60 euros to see the faslight anthem for half an hour.

I've only ever seen them play festival sets, both times at Reading. The first time is what got me into them, the second time seemed a bit more... eh. They were on a crappy stage though, with terrible sound.
The 59 Sound and Senor and the Queen are both perfection though. Sink or Swim is great, but those two just hit another level entirely.

You remind Anna, if she asks why, That a thief stole my heart while she was making up her mind. I heard she lives in Brooklyn with the cool, Goes crazy over that New York scene on 7th Avenue. But I used to wait at the diner, a million nights without her, Praying she won't cancel again tonight. And the waiter served my coffee with a consolation sigh. You remind Anna, if she asks why.
That part is just brutal. Really hits home.

This band has haters?
I saw them last year after they scheduled a show with like, two days notice. Pleasant surprise.
They played about as well as they could have, but I've seen better shows.

I love this band. When I saw Dillinger Four, the singer made fun of them... it was only mildly embarrassing that I was wearing a Gaslight Anthem shirt.

All the .org kids started hating on them when they started getting popular . Fuck the .org. The general readership of that place is fucking awful. They don't need fans like that. No band should need fans like that.

In the words of O Pioneers!!!:
Punknews is Stoked
Give me wit, give me bad taste, give me poor humor. Give me keyboards, give me sarcasm, give me blah blah blah. How can you criticize someone when you don't even try for yourself. In independent culture, we get so bored. Type your witty comments on a little keyboard. I can cut you down to size. I can put you in your place. FIRST!
