Also, that part with Sunshine and Rachel singing in the bathroom and Sue coming in and telling them to shut up was great. I didn't like the scene until Sue showed up, hahahah. Rachel is really just becoming intolerable for me. She ruins p. much every scene she touches. I really dislike the Artie/Tina/Mike storyline. Are we supposed to feel sorry for Artie? He was a terrible boyfriend, Tina had every reason to ditch him. I don't really get what angle they're aiming for with this. Word.

Glee keeps finding ways to piss me off. What the fuck was with the fake sexual assault claim? I don't care if they wrapped it up in eight seconds. It wasn't even an important plot point, and we already saw Sue was trying out there ways to get the new coach fired so it had no real reason to be there other than potential lulz. And that sucks. ...I am aware that if it annoys me this much I just shouldn't watch it. I just keep hoping for a decent Kurt, Tina or Mercedes storyline/song.

I feel like this show might have fulfilled a need I had this summer for something, anything on TV that was flamboyant and fun but now that I have internet again I don't need it anymore? I still haven't watched last week's episode just because there's a million other things I'd rather waste time on.

You know what? I was very pleasantly surprised at how good this episode was. Not gonna lie, I almost lost during a couple of the scenes with Kurt and his dad. I actually thought they handled the religion thing very well by having a few different perspectives on it. But holy shit Finn's storyline was fucking stupid. It was so weird and silly compared to the rest of the plot, and felt totally pointless. One other thing I liked, though: the friendship between Kurt and Mercedes is one of the few relationships on the show that feels real.

I was irritated that Sue as an atheist seemed to question her stance where the religious people didn't, I was annoyed that all the religious people thought they knew better than Kurt and I was annoyed that Finn is such a fucking moron and that even after Puck mentioned praying for Kurt's dad and Finn appeared to look guilty afterwards, he still didn't use his newfound 'wish praying' to care about Kurt's Dad.
However, I thought the Kurt storyline was really lovely. I loved his song, I loved that he stuck to what he believed (or didn't), I love his friendship with Mercedes and I especially love his relationship with his dad. Also loved the counsellor pointing out that God didn't let Finn touch Rachel's boob.
Oh, and I was really grossed out when Finn ate a week old Jesus sandwich. Eeew.

One other thing I liked, though: the friendship between Kurt and Mercedes is one of the few relationships on the show that feels real. This is the truth. I'm sad that we haven't had a chance to see much of her in the last couple of episodes. I hope that she doesn't become this season's Mike Chang (or that black football player that they had last season. Did we ever even find out his name?). There were quite a few things in last weeks episode that disapointed me, but I hope that this week is better. The thing about this show is that while I enjoy it on a certain level, the half-thought through way that it deals with controversial issues really grates on my nerves. I really don't think it should be that difficult for them to come up with an entertaining, culturally relevant show for teenagers with believable, engaging dialogue and that doesn't have that creepy redheaded journalist kid trying to barter with Finn for Rachel or grabbing some random person's ass in a sexual tizzy. It's a little too ridiculous for me at times.

I was irritated that Sue as an atheist seemed to question her stance where the religious people didn't, SO many shows do this. Didn't the Simpson's do it with Lisa? I remember someone mentioning that Family Guy and Brian may have been one of the only instances where an atheist character stayed atheist and didn't get all doubty because of how ~wonderful~ god is.

I expected this episode yo be shitty, but it was one of my favorites.

So I just watched it. Pretty fucking excessive on the heartstrings really. I was in pieces for most of it. Kurt is by far one of the more relate-able characters (to me) and the way they handled his struggle with religion was really touching. I was expecting them to portray atheists as totally heartless, it was nice that they highlighted the fact that different beliefs don't make those questions any easier or harder.
Songwise, I thought Finn's storyline was dumb, but his version of Losing My Religion was actually really good. Rachel was just awful.

Completely agreed with you on everything. The faithy characters were so preachy most of the time, and I was really worried Kurt was going to switch sides by the end. Kurt p. much had me welling up the entire time. His song killed me. And I love him/Mercedes being friends. And yes yes yes to Emma pointing out Rachel let him touch her boobs, not god. And yeah wtf just throw the sammich away.

I read some review that said that this past episode was just explosive and controversial, and I expected Glee to like, have Kurt dancing in a sea of dancing half naked Jesuses or something. I just thought they had the chance to actually go the distance and question (or you know, ridicule the many ridiculous things to do with religion), and they did do that to an extent, but they played it way, way too safe. In my opinion, of course.

This week's was okay, but it had probably my favorite exchange in the whole show: "You know, you and I have a lot more in common than you think." "What a terrible thing to say."
It's not the most brilliant joke, sure, but it was something about Kurt's delivery that just killed me.

I don't know wae I came in here, I haven't seen this week's yet. Thankfully nothing spoilery got posted, at least. (Not that I would blame anybody if they had, just for the record.)
Kurt's delivery, I could see that making that joke, Nick, hahahah.
I have an unfortunate amount of tv to catch up on, probably tonight to procrastinate. I don't even like tv that much, I'm not sure how this has happened.

I didn't hate Finn and Rachel this episode, but seriously does she ever watch video of her singing? At the end.. judas. Kurt has no problem NOT wincing in apparent pain when he sings, take note, goddamn. Artie. I LOVE MIKE CHANG.
