Brand New is my absolute favorite band. The lyrics are just always so clever. I haven't heard Daisy yet. I'm kind of scared to actually in case I don't like it. But I wasn't a huge fan of TDATG at first but I grew to love it. Off-topic, but nice Yelling Bird avatar.

Also, how fucking good is Limousine? I think it might be my favorite Brand New song ever.
Well I love you so much but do me a favor baby and don’t reply. Cause I can dish it out but I can't take it...

SPEAKING OF LIMOUSINE, I JUST HAD A REVELATION ABOUT IT. Well I love you so much but do me a favor baby and don’t reply. Cause I can dish it out but I can't take it... I just noticed that every time he says "I", he's really saying a number, one through seven. My mind is fucking blown. Goddamn, I love this band.

When I realized that, it just made me so damn sad that I could barely stand it.
Limousine is so heart-wrenching.

Indeed you do. And indeed it is.
This is taken from songfacts, but it's the alleged story behind Limousine:
The lyrics are tragic enough on their own, but once you know the story, becomes billions of times more tragic.

I'm so glad I checked out this thread. I've had The Devil and God on repeat since yesterday, and I really didn't think I was going to like this band because I haven't listened to anything like them in so long. I love that the album sounds so cohesive, and it seems like there are certain themes (musical and otherwise) that run through all of it.

That's so fucking depressing. Ever since Daisy came out I've been saying I like it more than TDAG, but I decided to throw it on last night and as soon as Sowing Season started I remembered how much I fucking love that album.

Absolutely awesome that they're streaming the whole thing. I mean, I downloaded the leak, and still plan on buying it, but, I'm glad they've got the faith in their fans (and the album itself) to do the same.

Just started it. "Vices" had some interesting things going on but the vocals were bringing it down for me. I'm liking "Bed" quite a bit.

TDGARIM and Daisy are two of my favorite albums ever. Daisy is just so fantastic. Every time I listen to it, I find new and different things that catch my attention.
Anyone else seeing them on their fall tour? I'm going to be at the 10/17 Palladium show.

I think the last song on Daisy was my favorite. I liked it but not more than TDAG. I'll be sure to pick it up next week.

I'm going to the 10/30 show in Dallas. I don't want to listen to the leak so this week needs to hurry up and end.

Ugh, the story behind Limosine is absolutely heartbreaking.
I'm still on the fence about Daisy after one listen (reserving judgement 'til I've had a proper listen), but The Devil and God... is easily one of my favorite albums period.

TDAG is why I'm a Brand New fan. It's why I'm holding Daisy to such high expectations.
I fucking love losing my voice to Jude Law. I don't care how trendy that song is, it rocks my face off.

Daisy is like getting into a damn fight that you know you're going to lose, but still swinging for the fences anyway.
That's the only thing that came to mind after I finished listening to it late Saturday night on my way home from the coast in the rain. At first, I called it messy, but it's more than that. It's definitely messy, but there is such a fucked up cohesion throughout the album that is beautiful. The album bounces back from sounding melancholy to defiant. Some of the songs sound like nothing more than a band that's ready to drive a car off a cliff. Others sound like a band that's ready to throw down and go to war with everything.
I'm not even going to touch the lyrics. Just going on sound, "Noro" is the perfect way to end the album. "In a Jar" just has this build that gets you pumped up and it just fucking stops. It's like you built up your adrenaline and walked into the fray and got punched right in the face. You hit the ground, and realize that this is how you're going out. You're bummed because you know that this is the end, but you're still going to go out, guns blazing, even though there's no chance at all that you're going to make it out alive.
Yeah.

So I'm on my second listen of this album. I really like At the Bottom, Vices and You Stole so far. And I'm liking it better so far even on the second listen. Hopefully I'll love it after a couple more listens.
